This special edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has a gorgeous new cover illustration by Kazu Kibuishi. Inside is the full text of the original novel, with decorations by Mary GrandPré.

Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.

All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.

For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

This book was amazing! It is about a world of magic and wonder and a boy caught in the middle of it. Harry Potter doesnt know anything about wizards or magic until one day a letter arrives adressed to his room, the cupboard under the stairs. Hogwarts was a school of witchcraft and wizardry and this letter was his admission. He is soon caught up in a magical world and finds out he is one of the most famous wizards in it. I Loved this book and would recommend it to anybody.

This book was very exciting to read and i really like the harry potter series!

The series is OK I don't like it very much

I love the Harry Potter series of books! Better than the movies! Great series! My favorite.

This is the first book of seven in Harry Potter. Harry's father and mother were killed by a dark wizard named Lord Voldemort and when he was just one year old. At the age of 11, he was found by Rubius Hagred as he was under the care of a Mugel nonmagic family the Durseleys. When Harry enrolled at Hogwarts, the sorting suggested Slytherin, one of the houses, Harry had heard that Voldemort was in Slytherin, so the hat put him in Griffindor. Harry was allowed to play quiddich in his first year, while all the others could only enroll in the game after their first year. Near the end of the book, harry discovered that his defense agains the dark arts teacher mr. quorreel had been a servant of Voldemort.

this book is really a wonderful adventure. filled with wizards, magic, mail carrying owls, and muggles. once you start reading you just can't stop. I would recommend this book.

I like this book. It is interesting how Harry Potter gets detention and has to go into this forest with Hagrid.

I have been told that the beginning of the book is boring, once you get past the 1st chapter, you enter Harry's world. I have read every Harry Potter book and have watched every movie. I used to think Harry Potter was for nerds (which I now understand is not a nice term) but if that is so, I am proud to consider myself a nerd.
