Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing is always our first read aloud book at the beginning of 4th grade. Kids have so much fun reading about Peter and his crazy little brother Fudge, that they get hooked on Judy Blume's books. Blubber is quite different from the Fudge books, however. This story follows a middle-school aged girl named Jill and centers around her relationship with a girl named Linda who is a victim of pretty terrible bullying. Towards the beginning, Linda is giving a report about whales. Kids pass notes about her saying that "Blubber" is a good name for her. Will Jill take a stand against bullying or become a bully herself? Read to find out. (p.s. If you like to read about middle school peer pressure, you also might like Wringer buy Spinelli.)

Another Judy Blume book that i luved! This book is based on bullying, so it's really inspirational to end bullying. it's kinda sad how Linda, Jill's best friend, is bullied and Jill tries to stand up for her, but then everyone starts bullying her, including Linda... i think it would be a perfect book for schools to have!

I love this book. I feel bad for Linda when everyone makes fun of her.But she can's help it if she is so fat and she is talking about whale blubber which is fat.

This book is amazing! Another great one by Judy Blime. It has such a great lesson everyone should read and it'll teach you a thing or two.

I think this book is really sad because it's about a girl who gets bullied. The main character, Jill, Has always been friends with Wendy and Caroline (the mean girls) and they bully Linda. They call her blubber and do REALLY mean stuff to her. Wendy all of a sudden is mean to Jill! Will Jill stand up to her?

A whale report. Thats how Linda got her nickname Blubber. Linda Fischer was a pudgy girl and when she did a report on whales Wendy knew it was the right time to attack. Which Wendy and her followers: Caroline, Judy Brenner, and Tracy Wu did automatically. But little did they know one of them would stand up for Linda and that person would pay the consequences. Read the book and you may find out this mysterious persons fate.
