Gilbert is just an ordinary boy who lives on a farm in Nebraska. He wakes up after a strange dream one night and starts looking out his telescope. He sees something land in a nearby wheat field and goes to investigate. He finds a martian girl there her name is Aoleon. She helps Gilbert escape from an angry farmer by letting him into her spaceship. Gilbert touches something on the control panel and sends all the cows in the field floating. They escaped the farmer but ran into some trouble with the air force! While the air force is trying their hardest to shoot them down, Aoleon has fun escaping them and takes Gilbert to her home planet Mars. I really enjoyed this book because it is fast paced and funny. I have never read a book like this before! This story about the friendship between Gilbert, a human, and Aoleon, a Martian, is out of this world!

This book is wickedly awesome! Imagine circle crops, flying cows, chasing space cars, weird looking aliens with different eyes, and a sweet girl who flies like crazy. Gilbert from Earth was able to go to Mars and learned about the planet. Isn't that exciting? All I know is, my brothers and I love the story and the pictures on the book, glossy and colorful! We think Gilbert & Aoleon are now our newest book bestfriends!
