That's very interesting. I've never heard of that before but it definitely makes sense! It's worth researching.Over 7 years agocrystalmoriliked a comment in Study Suggests Small Fibs Snowball Into Larger Lies As Brain Adapts To Dishonesty.
I think that this is very entertaining and educational. I also think that I will try to decrease my lies in the future. This is a good article that everybody should read.Over 7 years agocrystalmori replied to a comment in
When I saw someone die or get hurt, it would cause me emotional pain like my heart was being torn apart-even if I knew nothing about the person at all. When someone was suffering emotionally, I would notice and want to make them feel better. But not only were the kids around me able to ignore the news that someone had died that day, but able to play video games where they killed virtual people in a very real-looking way and ENJOY doing it. Mainstream news and television is usually filled with physical and emotional pain, and I (who had not been exposed to much of it) noticed that my classmates (who had been exposed to it) did not seem to respond as strongly emotionally. Maybe this is just a coincidence, but it could also be another example of what was shown in this study, so I think that it's something worth looking into.Over 7 years agocrystalmori added a new comment in
This is just a theory of mine, but it seems quite possible that over-exposure to certain negative things might cause our emotional responses to them to decrease over time. When I was younger, my parents took care to keep me away from violent images, such as certain video games or TV shows. I would sometimes protest because I wanted to be able to keep up with other kids' interests, but I wasn't a huge fan of violence either. I hated watching the news because it was always filled with people dying. I was also homeschooled for several years, which helped to isolate me from these images even more. When I first entered high school and became unable to avoid these things, I was surprised by the way some of my classmates handled them.Over 7 years agocrystalmoriliked a comment in Coral Vita Plans To Restore The World's Coral Reefs With Land-Based "Farms".

That's Leonardo for you. Now what if we had a man like him for President? That would be very interesting....Over 7 years agocrystalmoriliked a comment in Leonardo Da Vinci's "Irrelevant" Scribbles Are The First Recorded Laws Of Friction.
