I am completely blown away. Growing up, I have rarely seen Asian representation on the big screen, and this movie broke that barrier. With an all Asian-cast, Crazy Rich Asians is a box office hit, and reached a 91% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes!! The story follows NYU Econ professor Rachel Chu, and her time in Singapore with her boyfriend Nick Young's high-society family. She feels out of place in the world of the upper class and is resented by Nick's mother. Throughout the movie, it is clear that Rachel does not lack intelligence through her confrontation with Nick's mother and those who disapprove of her. Audiences see the meaning of family, love, and betrayal, and the movie ends with the classic, rom-com happy ending. Definitely worth the watch, and I am so happy to finally see people that look like me in Hollywood!!About 5 years agoturtlenicole added a movie review.
