When I first started this book I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. I don't normally love Believe It or Not books, but this one surprised me. All the facts in this book are really interesting, and I recommend it to anyone who loves The Guinness World Record books, or any other Ripley books. From pizza 20 football fields long to two nosed dogs, there are a bunch of wacky but cool facts in this amazing book. There are also lots of pictures within this book. Overall, I think this book is a great family read. Once you start to read it, you can't stop! Some more interesting facts are... Underwater ice hockey, Flowers that bloom in space, Car tires made out of ice, and much more! Get this book now!

Did you know that at St. Paul, Alberta, Canada that there is a UFO landing pad to bring in Martians to this vicinity?? I apologize for not being on DOGO for the past year--yes I was MIA, but that does not mean I stopped reading (I blame the Martians--jkjk). Gosh I really missed DOGO <3 so much!!! Sorry for sounding too sappy, but yes, I have come to this wonderfully made website to express my feelings! WARNING: this will be a long review, sort of to make up for time I was gone... STORYTIME/REVIEW: In school, I have been reading very… um…. let us say classics, Shakespeare, and all that good stuff (I was being sarcastic, I do not want to read another romantic, yet tragic death of Romeo and Juliet… Sorry if you do like Shakespeare), but to be honest my head was so tired of reading something that sounded like a foreign language to me. So once I came back home from school, I saw a book… the color, the length, the width, the--YES, it was not a book from Shakespeare…. I had a “curiosity overload” as I walked closer and closer to it. I brought up the book and I saw the eyeball as it constantly dilated then contracted. Dilated. Contracted. Dilated. Contracted. I was fascinated, what was even this sorcery *Harry Potter lives in this book* (JKJKJK)? My imagination grew even wilder, filling with hopes and dreams. As time passed by, the moment that I waited for finally happened! My hand trembled to open up the book to explore the pages. BABAMMM!!! I felt an electric shock go through my fingertips, I was ecstatic! *YES, this is the exact feeling you will feel when you see the book for yourself!* So this huge book with 245 pages occupied my mind for hours as I devoured each page, as my brain was trying to retain all the information I was learning. Yes--this book--you actually learn and retain pieces of information because the colorful prints and pictures help you able to visualize it clearly, which later gets memorized (sort of like muscle memory). I am being very serious, for example, a couple days ago I read about a huge tumor, which induced Gurmeet Singh to undergo a surgery to remove this tumor (121 LBS!!!)... and somehow all of this information stayed with me; it even followed me to my dreams!! (IM SERIOUS) I am a person who dreams all the time, and I dreamed of being a surgeon actually performing the surgery on Singh to remove this malignant tumor (yes, all of this is true and happened in real life). I feel like even though all of these information are random, there are certain topics in which the book spreads out by (which is very helpful, if you want to read about certain topics). Anyways all of these information will be handy one day, I can definitely assure you. Also, when reading this book, it does not seem like you’re studying, but you technically are learning and studying (but it’s disguised because the book is really fun when reading through this). Like there’s so much information--and also there could be information that might be useful to you in general, or even for school! All these pieces of information with visuals are strategically placed, its like this book is a genius. But to be honest, just get the book for yourself!! This colorful, yet factual book is something that you do not want to miss out (especially if you have been reading Shakespeare)!! Also, just please read this book, this book needs all the love it can get due to its amazing information, it will definitely SHATTER YOUR SENSES!! I assure you that you will be 10 times smarter after reading this book! :) Enjoy!! ~~bibliophile

You there! Did you know that Valeriano Fatica from Italy carves animals and other characters out of fruits and vegetables? Or that Nick Johnson from Brooklyn was the first person to catch all the original 145 Pokémon from Pokémon Go? That’s breathtaking!!! In Ripley’s brand new annual book, you will learn the most outrageous facts, from animals to people! For example, a whole herd of reindeer all perished to one single lightning strike. That’s depressing but also astonishing that a whole herd of reindeer died. This book of facts will make you see the world in a whole different way! You will start to see that normal people may be able to do extraordinary things!!! One man has a skull that is double the thickness of a normal skull, allowing him to smash bowling balls on a plank over his head, smash cinder blocks, and bend nails! That’s amazing. I give this book 5 stars and recommend this book to people who love to learn facts that you can bring up in a conversation and wow your friends, family, and more!

When this book came in the mail from the DOGO advanced reading club my whole family gathered on the couch to read it. Me and my siblings LOVE Ripley's believe it or not and this book does not disappoint. Full of freaky feats and funny facts Ripley's is sure to please your whole entire family. I reccommend this book to anyone young and old. A special thank you to DOGO and whoever else gave us this book to read. We all really enjoyed it

This book was awesome! I haven't read all of the Ripley's Believe or Not books, although I do have some editions, but this one is definitely my favorite! This book is full of 245 brightly colored pages, with thousands of amazing facts and stories. Each set of pages are split into sections such as "Animals", "People", "Beyond Belief", "Pop Culture", etc. Some of these stories are insane! For example, one of my favorites is about Brittany Walsh. She can shoot a bow and arrow with her feet, and do all sorts of tricks while standing on her hands! And did you know "Cleopatra actually lived closer in time to the building of the 1st Pizza Hut than the building of the Pyramids"? Another page I especially enjoyed was a two-spread page about Pokémon, as I am an avid player of the game. To make my point, there were so many unusual stories, and yet many of them happened to everyday people. Another thing I really liked about this book is that at the very beginning there are a couple pages about Robert Ripley, who was the original author/collector really liked learning about how this legend first began the series. There were also tons of colorful pictures that captured the stories perfectly. This book could be used as entertainment for hours of fun, and would be a lot of fun to share with a friend or family member. It was so much fun to see all the variety of facts and stories-you never knew what you were going to read. I think this is the best Ripley book yet. And as there are both stories and photos, I recommend this book to people of all ages. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

WOW! I just finished Ripley's Believe It Or Not: Shatter Your Senses (2018), and it was SO COOL! Discover tons of wacky, weird, and unbelievable facts on each interesting page. These tidbits will make you think, stare, laugh, and go and tell your family and friends because you just can't believe it! Did anyone know that actor and pro wrestler Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is afraid of spiders, roller coasters, and miniature horses? And that there is a women who can shoot a bow and arrow and get a bulls-eye... using her feet?? This book also featured stories from people just like you and I who sent their incredible and strange experiences to Ripley's. I learned A LOT from this book, as it also had whole pages dedicated to fascinating stories, like women samurais of the past! The cool graphics and captivating photographs were the perfect icing on the cake. I really enjoyed reading this, and I'm sure you will too, as any age will love to dive into this amazing (and big!) book that will "shatter your senses!"

Ripley's Believe It Or Not books are always fun and interesting, and the 2018 was just as amazing. Every page is filled with captivating facts that will blow you away. For instance: Were you aware that over 1,000 robots danced in unison in a festival in China? Or that for over 200 years elephants were a show attraction by performing tricks like playing musical instruments, playing baseball, and even riding bicycles? That is just a tiny, tiny sliver of the facts in this book! Ripley's Believe It Or Not! Shatter Your Senses truly has something special about it, and I know you will never be bored by it. I highly suggest this awesome book to boys and girls of all ages, and trust me, you won't regret reading it.

The 2018 edition of Ripley's Believe It Or Not! is an AWESOME book! It has so many interesting (and some creepy!) facts. To start, the front of the book is just as cool as the inside. It caught my attention right away because of the "holographic" eyeball on the front. Inside, I learned about SO much stuff! For example, did you know a man trained a polar bear and he trusted it so much that he let it bite his head? And there is a lady who made her face look like a dragon's face? She has lots of tattoos, too. I got to see a photo of her in the book. I liked that there were a lot of cool photos. Also, I love Pokemon! I was so excited to see that there is a whole two pages of just Pokemon fun facts! I think this book is lots of fun for kids to read, but I liked sharing the facts with my parents and older siblings. It's cool to know facts about a lot of topics. I'd recommend checking this book out!
