Grady and his mom, Lila, are practically strays themselves, with barely a ten dollars to their name. an old clunky little car made of mostly rust and duct tape, and no job, no home. Until their creaky car breaks down in Pennsylvania. Desperate for a job, Lila snags the first one that she hears of - taking cooking and cleaning for a supposedly eccentric old man. If anything, this book was a heart-warming tale of finding a new home and a new life.
