You can’t stop the future.

You can’t rewind the past.
The only way to learn the secret . . . is to press play.

Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a strange package with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers several cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker—his classmate and crush—who committed suicide two weeks earlier. Hannah's voice tells him that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out why.

Clay spends the night crisscrossing his town with Hannah as his guide. He becomes a firsthand witness to Hannah's pain, and as he follows Hannah’s recorded words throughout his town, what he discovers changes his life forever.

Should i read this book? It seems really interesting!

A really good book that is constantly tugging on your heart strings. A book that is so well written you don't want to put it down until your finished. But when you finally do finish, you'll end up throwing the book across the room, because it doesn't really end.

this book captures the life of a boy, who lost the girl he liked; then found out he was one of the reasons she died. awesome!

Four words: Don't give up, ever.

can't wait to read this!

This story shows the life of a struggling teenage girl who wonders if life is really worth living. These tapes were what she left behind. A guy that liked her as much as she liked him listens to these tapes in agony, anger, sadness, & confusion. This book encourages people to live their lives and says to keep holding on, that it gets better in more ways than you can possibly imagine.

I started reading this book because my friend was reading it. The story revolves around a high school aged girl named Hannah Baker who had committed suicide. Before she swallowed the handful of pills to end her life, though, she recorded her voice explaining the 13 reasons why she made the final decision to kill herself. But there was a catch--only the people who played a big role in the 13 reasons would hear them...unless one of the people were to not pass the tapes on. As long as the tapes were passed along, their secrets would stay within their small circle. I recommend it to anyone who likes suspense, though there are multiple parts that may be inappropriate for some readers.
