When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his name. He’s surrounded by strangers—boys whose memories are also gone.
Outside the towering stone walls that surround them is a limitless, ever-changing maze. It’s the only way out—and no one’s ever made it through alive.
Then a girl arrives. The first girl ever. And the message she delivers is terrifying: Remember. Survive. Run.

The Maze Runner and Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials are now major motion pictures featuring the star of MTV's Teen Wolf, Dylan O’Brien; Kaya Scodelario; Aml Ameen; Will Poulter; and Thomas Brodie-Sangster. The third movie, Maze Runner: The Death Cure, will hit screens in 2018.

I loved this book when we read it in class last year...a little dark but very well written.

Thomas wakes up with no memories whatsoever of his past. he quickly adapts to his surroundings and learns that the gladers, all boys, were placed there a few years ago with no instructions or known purpose. inside the glade is a maze and a village where all of the boys live. every night, the doors to the maze close, protecting the boys in the village from the scary Grievers. whenever a boy running in the maze (called runners) are hurt by a Griever, they must be treated with a serum that makes them go through the Changing. no boy has ever been the same after the Changing, and some have said that memories come back to them. many have gone crazy after the Changing. every thirty days, a new boy arrives at the glade, but then a girl named Teresa arrives with a frightening note. soon thomas earns the job of a runner, boys that run through the maze trying to find an exit. Soon, disastrous things start happening that cause BIG changes in the maze...

The Maze Runner is an awesome book recommended for people 12 and up. The book gives a detailed visual of what’s happening in all the action. If you like problem solving mysteries, and think ahead about the clues given, this book will be great (in my opinion). The climax is gory and sends shivers up your spine. If you like kids getting together and fighting, this is a pretty good book. Unfortunately, the book has a sad ending. There are some texts that describe a boy screaming loudly from being pricked by a griever. I do not recommend reading this book at night. The time I did, I had an unpleasant dream. Overall though, I liked this book.

I liked the Maze Runner because it had a lot of mystery surrounding the maze.
