For twelve long years, the dread fortress of Azkaban held an infamous prisoner named Sirius Black. Convicted of killing thirteen people with a single curse, he was said to be the heir apparent to the Dark Lord, Voldemort.

Now he has escaped, leaving only two clues as to where he might be headed: Harry Potter's defeat of You-Know-Who was Black's downfall as well. And the Azkaban guards heard Black muttering in his sleep, "He's at Hogwarts . . . he's at Hogwarts."

Harry Potter isn't safe, not even within the walls of his magical school, surrounded by his friends. Because on top of it all, there may well be a traitor in their midst.

Wow it’s full of magic.

Dementors have been added to Hogwarts to capture Sirius Black, who has escaped from the prison of Azkaban. Dementors feed on happiness. Harry Potter wants to learn how to fight these dementors. Meanwhile, Ron's rat has disappeared, and he has blamed Hermione's cat for his disappearance. Little do they know, Ron's rat is not really a rat. Hermione is also exhausted from attending classes, which to Harry and Ron's confusion occur at the same time. However, Hermione refuses to explain to their curiosity . Overall, this book is enjoyable, and I recommend it to people who enjoy the Percy Jackson series or the other books in the Harry Potter series. I rate this 5/5.

This book is a 5-star page-turner, and I've read the whole series I recommend it. I also recommend all the other books

Harry Potter is the sole series that got me into reading chapter books. I seriously jumped from reading picture books to Harry Potter, and I loved every word of this series. This book did not disappoint one bit. In Harry Potter's third adventure, the stakes are higher than ever before. Upon overhearing that mass murderer Sirius Black has escaped the wizard prison Azkaban to kill him, Harry's nerves are strangely not jangled. But when the Fat Lady's portrait is slashed, Hermione's new cat acts oddly, and Sirius Black outsmarts the dementors by sneaking into Hogwarts multiple times, it's impossible for Harry not to be unnerved. Because Sirius Black has a secret. And perhaps Harry is courageous, but he cannot ignore the fact that this mass murderer is the one responsible for his parents' deaths.

I love the books and movies!!!

This book doesn't have much action, it's more of like storytelling. BUT IT IS STILL AMAZING. MANY unexpected plot twists!

As others know the Harry Potter series is amazing! It is full of magic that seems to pull you in. I highly suggest this book! Thx

This is my favorite Harry Potter book.

This book is awesome! It doesn't involve Voldemort so much, and that can be good as well as bad. However all the other books include Voldemort, so it is fine with me. This book has more Qudditch matches than any other books in the HP series, and I absolutely live for that! Lupin is the best DADA teacher, and I love the plot of this story, especially the beginning, where Harry runs away from his "Aunt" Marge. This book, (as well as the whole series), is something that definitely never gets old! It has quite the plot twist, and I couldn't keep my eyes off the book once I started. Definitely an awesome choice, and even if you don't like fantasy, these books might change your mind like they did for me!

I liked this book, mainly because it is the only harry potter book that doesn't have lord Voldemort in it. But it also has a very unexpeted ending because Harry finds out that Black is is godfather.
