For generations and generations, the women of Grunhilda’s family have stirred up trouble in a big, black pot. Grunhilda inherits her famous ancestors’ recipes and cauldron, but no one believes in magic anymore. Despite the fact that Grunhilda’s only useful skill is cooking up potfuls of foul brew, she finds a job listing that might suit her: lunch lady. She delights in scaring the kids until she meets Madison, a girl with thick glasses and unfinished homework who doesn’t fit in. The two outsiders recognize each other. Madison needs help at school and at home, but helping people goes against everything Grunhilda’s believes in as a witch! Will this girl be able to thaw the Lunch Witch’s icy heart? Or will Grunhilda turn her back on a kindred spirit?

Grunhilda is a witch whose family did not believe in kindness, or any good feelings. She enjoyed scaring people, with ghost cats, flying on broomsticks, etc. That is, until people stopped believing in magic... Her potion shop goes out of business, so Grunhilda seeks work elsewhere. She tries to work at the Salem Haunted Museum, but is fired due to not being scary enough. Then, her dog finds a job hidden in the daily newspaper...the lunch lady at the local school. Her bats come with her, but she urgently ushers them into her bag. Still, the stupid girl, Madison, sees. "Madison finds the word witch in the dictionary. "I wonder...she's solitary and older...she has warts...and bats! The lunch lady obviously is a skilled herbalist'" Madison wants to be turned smarter unfortunately, the spell goes wrong. Madison is now a frog. Grunhilda ancestors approve. But Grunhilda does not. Finally, and much to her family's dislike, she turns Madison into a human again and....

The subject of this story was kind of awkward, so i can't really explain it but it's about a lady who cooks, and is a witch, who has a very mean heart. She decides to be a lunch lady, but in the middle of that, a girl meets her and becomes the witch's friend. I rate this book a 3-3.5.

In this comic, a witch loses her job and starts looking for other jobs. She then finds a job as a lunch lady in the local school. A girl named Madison finds out that Grunhilda (the witch) is a witch and blackmails her into making her an intelligence potion. Instead, Grunhilda turns into a frog a frog and drops her into a pond. After that, Grunhilda then makes an antidote for the girl and frees from her frog body. I would not recommend this.

I am currently reading this book to my younger sister because she saw it at the library and wanted it so we checked it out. This book makes me laugh because my sister always thinks of Grunhilda as her lunch lady at her school. I love the magic in the book and the story behind it.

The pictures aren't great and the plot is bad. It leads kids to thinking that lunch ladies aren't regular people that are helping them. Still a good story just change the lunch ladies.
