The poor owls. They now sleep at night, eat processed mice and have to get petted by strangers. Put yourself in those owls' shoes. Would you like for that to be your life? Also, you wouldn't even get special treats or anything. People, owls are supposed to be wild animals, not some domesticated pet that will be cooped for eternity. In fact, the United States does not allow private individuals to keep native owls as pets, but may only be possessed by trained, licensed people while being rehabilitated, as foster parents in a rehabilitation facility, as part of a breeding program, for educational purposes.Over 7 years agokell-bell added a new comment in

After hearing about how excellently crafted the book Throne of Glass was from a review on DOGOnews, I was instantly intrigued and I decided to read it. When I first began, I got the feeling that it was going to morph into a rip-off of The Hunger Games, but I was dead wrong. In fact, I ended up enjoying it more than any of the other books in The Hunger Games series. Celeana Sardothien is a slave in the salt mines of Endovier, but she wasn't always. Once, she was an assassin. Not just any old assassin, but Adarlan's Assassin, a ruthless killer, feared by all in the land of Erilea. Her torturous, horrible life as a slave is forever changed when she is invited/forced to go through a series of Tests against other scum to become the King's Champion. But all is not as it seems when competitors are mysteriously found dead, murdered grotesquely. She is ordered to root out and destroy the evil-before it destroys her and her only chance at freedom. Throne of Glass was an absolute page-turner, with superb character development, and well-orchestrated romances and friendships, and best of all, villains that are oh-so-despicable. I loved how Throne of Glass shifted in points of view, forging an even deeper and intriguing plot. You'll sympathize with the cold-blooded assassin, understand the haughty prince, and the pity the stone-faced Captain of the guard. I couldn't tear myself from this masterpiece and cannot wait to continue it in the next books. I recommend to all fantasy and adventure lovers who want a good book to curl up to for hours.Over 7 years agohappypug12 added a book review.
