A true story from Raina Telgemeier, the #1 New York
Times
bestselling, multiple Eisner Award-winning author of
Smile, Sisters,
Drama, and Ghosts!

Raina wakes up one night with a terrible upset stomach. Her mom has one, too, so it's probably just a bug. Raina eventually returns to school, where she's dealing with the usual highs and lows: friends, not-friends, and classmates who think the school year is just one long gross-out session. It soon becomes clear that Raina's tummy trouble isn't going away... and it coincides with her worries about food, school, and changing friendships. What's going on?

Raina Telgemeier once again brings us a thoughtful, charming, and funny true story about growing up and gathering the courage to face -- and conquer -- her fears.

This book is really good! On the challenging scale, I would rate it a 2 – a little easy. It’s basically about a girl called Rania who is scared of barf. She goes to a therapist who helps, even though she still is scared of barf. Eventually, she learns that the biggest bully in her class has tummy troubles, too. She finds that she has a lot in common with her, and they become friends. I would recommend this book to 2nd to 5th graders – like I said, it’s a little easy.

It was amazing! I loved the art! The story is so relatable! I liked Guts because It tells a story that is actually interesting and it tells what she felt and how her and her parents tried to help her out and another reason I liked this book was because I also have stomach problems like that and it really shows how she was feeling and it makes me feel like I am not the only one who has stomach problems and I love how it is also relatable to what I feel like sometimes too I love how it was a mystery to see why she was having stomach trouble but also how she felt and had to deal with it because those are my favorite books to read about so I definitely recommend this to kids that are in 4th or 5th grade and if you like to read about mysteries or just like a comic book or a funny or good book I would recommend it for those people.

I loved Guts because it shows how a girl went through a sickness and it was very interesting and relatable, anyways, what an amazing book and one of my favorites!

this book is a really good book. the reason that i recomend it is beacouse is is really good and is reliatible.

I love this book. It tells that the girl [herself] is afraid of lots of things. It tells us that even if you're afraid you can always overcome it no matter how impossible you think it is, no matter how small of the fear or big of the fear, you can always overcome it. Along with that it tells you how to feel better about your fear, how to calm down when you're nervous, or feel like your going to throw up. It also shows that even if you have to go to therapy, that doesn't mean something is wrong with you, and that a lot of people go to therapy. In conclusion I give this book a 5 stars.

I just finished reading the book guts, and I have mixed feelings. It is a biography by Raina Telgemeier, and well its a lot. I liked it because it can teach kids to forgive there enemies , to not bully, and about anxiety, but I didn't like how it told you you should become friends with your enemies. Kids don't have to become friends with them! The book wasn't that challenging at all. I found this book interesting because of the illustrations. I would recommend for 2nd to 3rd graders.

I really like this book.
