Middle school is all about change. In the opening section, girls take a quiz to determine how they respond to change, then receive tips on how to cope with the big changes that they're getting ready to face as they start middle school- switching classes, getting up earlier, and having their own lockers, all while learning to manage a new school, new teachers, new friends, and LOTS more homework and activities! The secret to feeling more confident as she starts middle school is having a little insight into what to expect. This book provides that information as well as Smart Girl's tips from girls who have already made the grade in the big school.

When I started middle school this year I did not have a mother to talk about it with and American girl helped. This book helped me survive and thrive. Now I love middle school

This is definitely a great book if you are starting middle school. My Mom got it for me when I started middle school, and I am still reading it now!It has many helpful tips about grades, classes, how to find your way to classes, bell schedules, how to make new friends in middle school, where to sit at lunch, teachers, and all those helpful things. It is a definite must-have for girls entering middle school and even for girls already In middle school.(even though the title says "A smart girl's guide to starting middle school."Enjoy!

First off I'm sorry I haven't wrote in a long time!! Second off the book. If you're heading to middle school, or starting at the very moment, this is the book to get. It explains everything you should or could do. I'm going to middle school next year and when I read this in fourth grade, I actually tried to picture myself. It has solutions and facts about different problems. Different classes, friends, grades, parties, and other similar things occur in this book. I read this before I was even in fifth grade so that I could be prepared. I'm not saying read this before but just to try to know everything about starting sixth grade. It really did help me learn the different things.

I read this book last summer and I got a really great start to middle school! Middle School is really easy if you read this book.
