With a special cable television network, hotels reserved just for them, surfing competitions and even beauty pageants, dogs are almost as pampered as humans. So why not a cafe inside which canines can just chill and hang out? Welcome to South Korea's, Dog Cafe!

Located in the city of Busan, the concept was adopted from the cat cafe phenomenon that has spread across Japan like wildfire. The goal is to get the people of this busy city who work long hours and live in apartments not big enough to accommodate dogs, a chance to bond with man's best friend.

As soon as patrons walk in, dogs of all breeds and sizes jump up and try hustle for their attention. While there are gates to separate the small dogs from the big ones, the boundaries are hardly ever kept and the dogs pretty much roam all around the cafe nuzzling and even jumping into the laps of the people who gives them attention.

However, a price has to be paid for this affection. Every customer who enters is charged 8,000 won ($7.20 USD). But it is totally worth it, since the price includes an unlimited supply of coffee or smoothies, a scrumptious buffet of donuts and cake and most importantly, the opportunity to hang with the dogs as long as they like. The best part is, that all the dogs are rescued or strays which means that without the cafe, they would be homeless - A true win-win for everyone!

I've never had a mammal as a pet before. I mean, I've had a fish before. I always wanted a dog, but I know my mother would never let me have one. She says that I have to learn to take care of myself before anything else, but I know that's just an excuse because she thinks that dogs are gross. If you don't believe me when I'm saying this, you've got to listen to this. It may sound weird, funny, awkward, or all of them spontaneously. One day during the wintertime, my grandmother cooked bacon to accommodate my brother's breakfast (we share the same household). I guess two dogs, a brother-&-sister pair of beautiful huskies picked up on the aroma & came to our house. I think my mother may have been blinded at the time, because she didn't see that these two huskies had collars with their names on it... Anyways, she went outside to start the car, & she noticed the two huskies at our doorstep. Now, this part is ridiculous - she took off one of her shoes & threw it at the female husky. She said, "Shoo!" In my head, I was laughing because of the cheesy pun (my mom said 'shoo' & she threw a shoe at the husky - get it?). Unfortunately, the two huskies were more resilient than she thought. They circled around my mother until they heard their owner calling them in the distance. Finally, they left, & my mother went like, "Ewww..." I was appalled to see my own mother come in like a hot mess (well, in this case, a cold, yet sweaty mess). Her hair was all bedraggled, she was hopping around on one broken Jimmy Choo boot, & she held her other shoe, covered with snow & dog spit, in her other hand. Oh, my, what the awfully strange memories I've encountered in my time! :D

Some people are legitimately afraid of dogs. (Like Mikage from Kamisama Hajimemashita) I actually feel kind of bad for them. I went from loving cats, to being terrified of cats, to loving cats again.
