The magic and suspense of Graceling meet the political intrigue and unrest of Game of Thrones in this riveting fantasy debut.

Your greatest enemy isn't what you fight, but what you fear.

Elizabeth Grey is one of the king's best witch hunters, devoted to rooting out witchcraft and doling out justice. But when she's accused of being a witch herself, Elizabeth is arrested and sentenced to burn at the stake.

Salvation comes from a man she thought was her enemy. Nicholas Perevil, the most powerful and dangerous wizard in the kingdom, offers her a deal: he will save her from execution if she can break the deadly curse that's been laid upon him.

But Nicholas and his followers know nothing of Elizabeth's witch hunting past--if they find out, the stake will be the least of her worries. And as she's thrust into the magical world of witches, ghosts, pirates, and one all-too-handsome healer, Elizabeth is forced to redefine her ideas of right and wrong, of friends and enemies, and of love and hate.

Virginia Boecker weaves a riveting tale of magic, betrayal, and sacrifice in this unforgettable fantasy debut.

This is, hands down, the best book ive ever read. It keeps the author active at all times and I think that the author made a really good job at making the reader eant to know what's next in the story. Elizabeth Grey, the main character of the story, is a girl who knows the true definition of love, friendship, and of courageousness. At the beginning of the story, she is presented to the reader as the best witch hunters of the world. She lives an incredibly intense life of magic, in which many characters start to appear in the scence. I really recommend this story to anybody who is looking for a good, intense book that will last in you mind forever. It is the first book of two, which makes it much better because of its amazing ending. The ending will amaze you in so many ways that you won't be able to carry out your life peacefully if you dont read the second one. I hope that you like this book as much as I did and that it leaves a mark in all of you.

This novel is, undoubtedly, the perfect example of uniqueness. It proves that you should not judge a book for its cover, like Elizabeth Grey, a girl that´s not supposed to know how to commit murder and make the scene look like an accident. However, this book´s themes vary between romance, suspense and magic. It´s not the ordinary book where the hunter is a heroe forever intended to keep it´s people safe, In this case, double-sized Elizabeth is a hunter and a witch as well. The story relates people with the different aspects of Elizabeth´s life, like love, bravery, strength and fear to loneliness. She is guided by her statutes and acts wisely, with courage; leaving everything aside to protect the ones she love. Her expiriences force her to differentiate between what suits her and others best. This is the kind of book you should enjoy rereading.

This novel is, undoubtedly, a great example of uniqueness. Unlike all stories of wizards and witches, ¨The Witch Hunter¨ by Virginia Boeker, makes the protagonist of her novel, Elizabeth Grey, strong in character and wise; almost flawless. She cares for the ones she loves and leaves everything aside for them. Her bravery and strength is what makes her achieve or get what she wants. Also, she is afraid of loneliness, but lets her principles and experiences to teach and guide her through the journey. The story makes any reader to connect with the characters in many aspects like: love, bravery, being double-sided, etc. Surely is the type of book you will enjoy rereading.
