Soul Surfer: A True Story of Faith, Family, and Fighting to Get Back on the Board

Soul Surfer: A True Story of Faith, Family, and Fighting to Get Back on the Board

By Bethany Hamilton, Rick Bundschuh

Bethany Hamilton is a role model to me. She kept on surfing even when she had no arm to paddel with. She is one of the most greatest surviver i have ever known (also lauren scruggs lost her eye and hand in a airpland accident) Anyway she did everything herself dint want any help gust wanted to do it herself. I cant believe she won 5 and 3 place i think in 2 contests. Amazing yes/no? I can tell you she was born to surf no matter what happens. She believed in God and God was on her side ever step of the way. She's not even affraid of sharks! The only thing she is affraid of is to never surf again, or even get back in the water. She makes me want to surf if you ask me. But anyway she never gave up if she fell she would get right up and have God on he side to pave the way. You all should never give up on your dreams. Good things will always come. Gust be yourself. Do what you do. God will always be there for you. you fall right on your face get back up and try again. Remember follow your dreams, believe in God, and good things will always happen to ypu even when stuff seems impossible. This is the most insoiring story and so is we bought a zoo and dolphine tale and all three of these storyes have been read about, seen, and heard about i guess all of these storyes have been heard about all over the world. Fight trough your problems and follow your dreams. Now i am going surfing. If i ever move to Hawii or Calafornia. See ya everyone Bye. P.S. follow me tomboy4eve again my name is tomboy4eve Bye

The Story of Tracy Beaker

The Story of Tracy Beaker

By Jacqueline Wilson

This was a very fun book by Jacqueline Wilson. Even though Tracy is very funny though, you can see that she protects herself with her humor, and often lies about her "glamorous" mom coming back for her one day. She says all sorts of things about her mom, like how she travels abroad lots and that's why she never has time for Tracy. You can tell that Tracy is mean to many of the other kids living in her foster home because she's jealous and upset that she can't have what they have, like outings with their parents. I think this book is very good to help kids practice seeing things from someone else's point of view more!

Herstory: 50 Women and Girls Who Shook Up the World

Herstory: 50 Women and Girls Who Shook Up the World

By Katherine Halligan

Herstory: 50 Women and Girls Who Shook Up the World. This was a great book. It talks about all these women and girls, who did many things for good, not for fame or something like that. All good. In history, women were discriminated, with not many rights, and stereotyped as weak, timid, and other qualities most people nowadays wouldn't approve of. The artwork is amazing, with lots of captions and pictures. I rate this 4 out of 5 stars.

Lincoln's Little Girl

Lincoln's Little Girl

undefined

Lincoln's Little Girl, written by Fred Trump, is a good book and a true story. Grace Bedell, Lincoln's little girl, wrote him a famous letter telling him to "let his whiskers grow", right before the presidential election. Lincoln didn't have any girls, so he decided to listen to grace's advice, just as he would if he had a daughter, and grow a beard. She even got kissed by Lincoln himself when his train came through where she lived on his way to Washington D.C. right after the election. But what happened to 11 year-old Grace after that? She grew up, got married, and had a long life. But what happened during her life? Read the book to find out. I recommend if you like history to read this book. It is a little harder to process and read, so I think ages 11- adults would enjoy this historical book.

Petty: The Biography

Petty: The Biography

By Warren Zanes

My book is called,"Petty" written by Warren Zanes, he also is the illustrator. This is a nonfiction biography book with 313 pages. Tom Petty's story still inspires people today, who want to have the positive, and persevering mindset like he did, through all hardships, his story will never be forgotten. Tom Petty as a kid got inspired for music from, "The Beatles". Also that boy started off as a teenager with a dream to a guy who hit it big in the music business. One struggle that Tom Petty faced was his band breaking up, Tom Petty got frustrated with that situation. So you can imagine the disadvantage going threw his mind because, he was the type of person who quits if it isn't looking good for him. Although, later on he learned to have more of an open mind. If Tom Petty learned at a young age that, people can be cruel at times, but to just use that to push you harder. For example, he probably wouldn’t of faced all those downfalls threw his life; if he knew before, he would of became a greater musician then ever. Additionally, he would of had a better reputation throughout his life.So from all of that, I can clearly say that, Tom Petty learned many lessons from his errors, like being a better person, and be more positive about things. Finally, I would recommend this book, “Petty”, for fans , people who are interested about Tom Petty, and of course, people who are looking to write an article about him. Why, because it gives so much information on Tom Petty, like what kind of person he was, and much more. Trust me, after reading that story I could write 6 legendary pages about Tom Petty, and I’m only a fifth grader! Over all, I would rate the book an 9 out of 10. All in all, If I had to ask one question towards Tom Petty it would be,”if you had to recreate one of your bands once and for all, final, forever, who would be in it and what would the title be?”
