Mae Among the Stars

Mae Among the Stars

By Roda Ahmed

This book is real. I like this book because it's about space, and I love space. It's one of my favorite things. I also like it because it is about Mae, and she is a girl. She wanted to be an astronaut when she grew up. Her teacher and friends thought she couldn't be an astronaut - she could be a nurse or a teacher. But her parents said she could be an astronaut, and she did when she grew up!

Jahanara is the daughter of his favorite wife Arjumand (he has four wives!!) Her father is Should be Emperor of the world and her mother should be Empress Jewel of the palace and Jahanara should be Princess of princesses. But they aren't any of those things because her father's stepmother Empress (aka the snake or Nur Mahal) Nur Mahal captured Jahanaras two brothers. After Father takes his death and not even Jahanara knows and they and some friends leave the kingdom! her brothers can come back to the family One of her brothers is very particular on how he acts and is in a way. . Kinda mean. The other brother is kind and hasn't changed as much as his brother. As Jahanara grows in this time in history in a good way she voices her opinions and treats people around her with respect (most of the time) This is more then a "princess book" it's well written and I enjoyed it. Serendipity and Me

Serendipity and Me

By Judith L. Roth

Serendipity and Me is a sweet, heartfelt book about a girl named Sara whose mother died driving in a thick Tule fog. Sara has wanted a kitten since she can remember, but cats have always been a 'no' in her household. When her mother died, Sara's father retreated into a state of deep sadness, bringing Sara with him, and every time she tries to talk about their family, he breaks down and goes to his room. To top it all off, Sara is set to star in a school production of Peter Pan as Wendy, with Garrett as Peter Pan, but a week before the play, she comes down with a bad virus. A cold, gloomy night, a miracle of a kitten bolts into their door, leaving Dad speechless and Sara finally with something to hold on to. The only thing is, can Sara convince her dad to let the kitten stay? I would recommend this book to anyone who loves cats and just wants something soft to hold onto.

Bloomability

Bloomability

By Sharon Creech

First of all, I would like to thank my friend Avery for recommending this book to me because it was really good. I think this book really fitted me because this is full of surprises that not everybody expects. In this novel, main character Dinnie Doone, is always moving to other states because her father always has job "opportunities". It seemed as though her father was running away from her mother's side, because he disliked them. Being a contryboy (The father) and the mother as a city girl, their families cannot really agree with each other. When she is whisked away to an international school in Switzerland, Dinnie Doone discovers all the "bloomabilities" that life has to offer. From Newbery Award-winning author Sharon Creech is a story about everyday joys. I rate this book 5/5 because I positively think that it really fits me.

The Boy Who Saved Baseball

The Boy Who Saved Baseball

By John H. Ritter

The Boy who saved baseball was written by John H. Ritter and was first published in 2003. This book is about a town who can never agree on anything, and they want to tear down a baseball field. There are boys who love baseball and want to keep the field. The town decides to have a baseball game to decide who should get to keep the field. My opinion on this book is definitely that it is a good book and in the top 20 I have ever read. It is a fantastic book with a great storyline and I would definitely read another book just like it.This genre is realistic fiction because there really could be a town that can’t agree on anything and there could have been a baseball field they wanted to tear down and some boys won’t let them. It all could have really happened but it didn’t so therefore it is realistic fiction. An audience that would enjoy this book would be somebody that loves sports or baseball especially. They would like this book because the main subject matter is about baseball and if you like sports baseball is one of the originals! An internal conflict in this book was when Tom was torn as to what he should do because his town/Doc want to sell the baseball field. He internally has to think what to do, which makes this an internal conflict. An External conflict in this book was when the town played a game to decide what they were going to do with the field. This was an external conflict because they played hands on a game for the field.

Dragon's Breath (Tales of the Frog Princess)

Dragon's Breath (Tales of the Frog Princess)

By E. D. Baker

E.D. Baker does it again! Another suspense-filled book. Things I loved: the characters, Emma's growing relationship with Eadric, and the funny times. Things I didn't like: nothing. Everything was really well-done.

The House in the Night

The House in the Night

By Susan Marie Swanson

The book had great illustrations with the contrast of black and white and yellow accents. I like how it took you all the way in and then back out to the world.

Kitten's First Full Moon

Kitten's First Full Moon

By Kevin Henkes

I read this book to my brother. I like how the illustrator did a good job adding to the author's words. I've read it a few times.

Stealing the Sword: A Branches Book (Time Jumpers #1)

Stealing the Sword: A Branches Book (Time Jumpers #1)

By Wendy Mass

Ava and Chase are the characters in this book. At first, I did't want to read this. At first I didn't think I liked this, but at the end I kind of did like it. It was kind of exciting, I would read more of the books in the series.
