Tiger Eyes

Tiger Eyes

By Judy Blume

Cried, laughed, and smiled at this wonderful story. Judy Blume expressed so much greatness of a teenage girl in this story showing the raw emotion of what it feels like to lose someone.

The Thing About Georgie

The Thing About Georgie

By Lisa Graff

10YrOldBkWorm

This great book keeps on moving with exciting events. Georgie is short. He can’t do many things. Jeanie signed him up for the president play without telling him. Something bad happened with his friend. He is bullied by Jeanie. When he is having trouble, he tries to be patient or he tries to do something that makes it better. Sometimes it works, but sometimes it doesn’t. He also becomes a big brother. The book keeps on moving: One thing happens, and then another happens, but then it’s all connected. I like that it has many details describing each character. I think this book is complete with details. I have read it so many times that I memorized certain parts, such as: “Because the thing was, Georgie Bishop was a dwarf.” Also, wherever I go, I think about the book. For example, when I go to camp, I think of Georgie going to school. You should read the book. If you start, you will keep going! You might think a lot about Georgie like I do.

Jack and Jill

Jack and Jill

By Louisa May Alcott

Jack and Jill by Louisa May Alcott is a 24 chapter fictional book about two friends. They have small, lighthearted adventures over the course of one year. I really enjoyed connecting to the characters on a personal level, seeing myself in them more than once. If you've read A Wrinkle in Time, this book is similar in writing style. My favorite part about this book is that the characters make mistakes and learn from them. It makes them more relatable. I would highly recommend this book to kids who are reading the classics, who want to read a fun short story, or are learning about different sentence structures. From 0 to 10, I give this book a strong 8.

Sting: A Loot Novel

Sting: A Loot Novel

By Jude Watson

The four friends (March, Jules, Dariua and Izzy) from the book "Loot" are back again in this exciting book. March and his friends were retired living in a apartment building that they bought entirely and study still have almost 20 million from there last heist. Only problem is Hamish (March's dead dad Alfie's close friend) really wants them to steal a diamond for him - the 4 have no choice but to agree to help since he did a lot for them on there last heist. The heist goes good except for the fact that they now have ruthless criminals that go by the name "Top Cat" after the heist they realize they stole the "Morning Glory" one of three cursed gems. Once again they go through a crazy set of heist because there fortune has been stolen by there "Banker" ... This was a dramatic, exciting, book full of even more friendship then the last one. Pop

Pop

By Gordon Korman

8thGradeReader

Pop by Gordon Popovitch is a book about a kid in high school named Marcus trying to fit in at a new school and football team. Marcus meets an adult named Charlie, who turns out to have played in the NFL. Marcus finds out that Charlie’s family is hiding a secret about him, and it’s up to Marcus to help Charlie. The book is an emotional and touching story. It’s also a great read, even if you don’t like football that much. I really liked this story because I could relate to a lot of things Marcus was going through. Marcus just moved into a new school and is trying to fit in, which I could understand. I also liked this story because I’m interested in football, so the parts where they were playing football were interesting to me. There are some ordinary parts about the book, but there are many special things in the stories. The characters in the story are very stereotypical (new guy, jock, cheerleader). The characters interact in a very interesting way, especially how the character of Charlie ties them all together. The many minor conflicts and disagreements that occurred were typical and ordinary, but the main problem that Marcus faces is very unique and special. After the problem is “solved,” the happy ending was short lived. The story ended in a sad, but satisfying way. Overall, the story was very entertaining (I read it in a single day because I couldn’t stop) and even inspired me to help people in need. In conclusion, Pop is a great story. The plot is interesting, and the end will make readers emotional. Football fans will also not be disappointed because football is mentioned a lot in this story. Readers can learn the importance of friendship and be inspired to help a friend in need. I wouldn’t recommend it to kids too small, because there are a couple of romance scenes and complicated football terms (though it is appropriate for kids around middle school and up). I would recommend this book to readers who are up to reading a decent-sized book about football and friendship.
