The Nerdy Dozen

The Nerdy Dozen

By Jeff Miller

This book was interesting at the end, but unless you're into military, air force, or stuff like that, this book will be a bit of a yawn, all though there are some pleasantly enjoyable parts. Some parts in this book were hard to comprehend or understand what was going on, but most of the time straightforward.

this book isn't really what you would expect from anormal book, i feel that this novel is maybe really bad but its an opinion idk,, i really think they should have made ruby have a more distinct character because i found her to be uninteresting like typically a girl her age should have been rebellious or like shy or smthn i liked some of the drama in the story but it could have been much better., as a hopeful future english-biology major i think they should add more realism like facts & stuff.,, overal it was mediocre, and it could have much more potential, if this book lived up to its potential i would have given it many more stars but it was super boring, personally. the rain was creative

Paper Hearts (The Heartbreak Chronicles)

Paper Hearts (The Heartbreak Chronicles)

By Ali Novak

Abigail Krus

This book is amazing. It tells a romantic story between a guy who is famous and a regular girl. I personally love those kinds of stories, so I fell in love with this one. The story is well written and thought out and is a great book to just curl up on the couch with on a rainy day.

Poisoned Blade (Court of Fives)

Poisoned Blade (Court of Fives)

I know that I am reading the three books at one time, but I can't put down this series!

CHERUB: The Recruit; The Dealer; Maximum Security

CHERUB: The Recruit; The Dealer; Maximum Security

By Robert Muchamore

This has three books of this series recommended to read in order. Great story. One of the best books i've ever read.

Court of Fives

Court of Fives

By Kate Elliott

It is soooooo good! I devoured it from start to finish. The main character, Jes, is a patron who sneaks out when her dad isn't home to train for a complicated athletic game called The Fives. The very day that she is entered in the competition, her dad comes home and anounces that she and her sisters are going to watch The Fives with him. Jes is a very adventurous and not affectionate character who cares deeply for her family and possible enemy Lord Kalliarkos. There is a pinch of romance, a dash if creepiness, and a whole load of danger. I would recommend this book for middle or high schoolers who can stomach the mom birthing a baby near the end (there weren't a whole lot of details, so it was fine). I loved this book and I'm sure that you will, too.

Ranger’s Apprentice: The Lost Stories

Ranger’s Apprentice: The Lost Stories

By John Flanagan

THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES! I cannot show how much enthusiasm I have for this book and all the other Ranger's Apprentice! Book 10 and 11 are really good, but the ending (at least, near end) of Book 11 is so sad!!! I downed the last half of the book last night, waiting impatiently for the Book 12 to arrive at my door. I finished crying, laughing, ripping out the carpet and wanting more. The humor is unfailing, as usual! John Flanagan is an excellent writer and I'm still unsure, as an 8th Grader, why the reading level is 3-6! It should be higher, as I still have to look up some words that he uses! I'll have to die before tomorrow when Book 12 arrives, because I simply can't spend another night staring at the wall and crying that I'm not sitting with a drink and a Ranger's Apprentice in my hand!!! I NEED BOOK 12 NOW! A Tolkien worthy piece!! (Well, that's a little too much credit. A NEAR Tolkien worthy piece!)

Halt's Peril (Ranger's Apprentice, Book 9)

Halt's Peril (Ranger's Apprentice, Book 9)

By John A. Flanagan

AMAZING!! I'm reading it now, and now that I'm over halfway through it's just left me hanging!! It's very different than book 8, which I got kind of lost in because it wasn't as exciting or hooking as the other books in this INCREDIBLE series. It still emphasizes the Ranger's skill in camouflage and the art of unseen movement - it shows that they're not perfect archers and won't always make every shot, which I thought was good because sometimes the Rangers are so amazing that they seem unrealistic. I'm learning new skills in the woods and outdoors and even just silent movement every time I read the books and this time I'm sure I have almost the most (besides for the first book, since it's Will's first year of training). It's super suspenseful when these assassins set up to ambush the two Rangers and the young Warrior (Will, Halt, and Horace) and when the results are not as they expected, the relationship between Will, his former apprentice, and Halt his mentor, really tugged on my heartstrings. Even the friendship between Horace and Halt was very moving. It makes me have to keep reading until the end to find out what happens!! It's so cool!! I really love this books and would recommend them to anyone... no, everyone! Ranger's Apprentice is DEFINITELY my favorite series and will hopefully hold the lasting record of that until I die. LOL.
