Carlton Crumple Creature Catcher 1: Catch the Munchies!

Carlton Crumple Creature Catcher 1: Catch the Munchies!

By Fremont, David

I have to say that when I opened this book, I wasn’t expecting it to be my cup of tea; I didn’t think Catch The Munchies would have the well-built characters and heart-pounding excitement I look for in good books. But this surprised me, and if there’s one thing I love, it’s surprises. Carlton Crumple: Catch the Munchies! might seem like a book for six-year-olds at first, but actually, anyone can read it if they like short stories with lots of humor and some hilarious monsters. Summary: Get ready to join Carlton on his adventure! First, let’s start with introductions: Carlton Crumple is a boy who’s afraid of...everything? Well, yeah. His brother Milt tries to scare him whenever he’s in the mood, dressing up as different monsters...and it works. Carlton is frightened every time. He starts to hide from anything that looks even a TINY bit like a monster...until one day, he decides he can’t hide forever. So he becomes a creature catcher, practicing monster-catching around the house (much to his father’s annoyance), and getting a job at the Chubbzy Cheeseburger Restaurant but running around putting imaginary creatures in nets instead of putting ketchup on cheeseburgers. But then, a MONSTER comes to town...yes, a real, live MONSTER! And when this strange creature starts gobbling up all the cheeseburgers in the world, it’s up to Carlton to stop it. Can he defeat the monster? Read this book to find out!

This book was okay. Kelly just wants to go to a Halloween party, but when she gets called in for a babysitting job she thinks it is the worst. She doesn't really like kids at all. But she needs money for the camp she wants to go to, and it's her mom's boss's child, so. But the boy she's sitting, Jacob gets kidnapped, she learns about monsters and how to fight them and how t hunt them with some fellow babysitters. She has to stop the boogeyman and find the kid. I give this a 4/5 because the plot was a bit confusing.

Rowan of Rin

Rowan of Rin

By Emily Rodda

Mia

Kids read books for enjoyment, but Rowan of Rin is the complete opposite of this. Rowan of Rin is a book that Emily Rodda created for middle school children to enjoy, but she struggles. After reading this you will see why. Firstly, Rowan of Rin has too many characters. All of them are technically talking at the same time. This is so confusing. When I was reading, this book, I was so confused with who is talking. So this means there are too many characters. Next, this book is based on a dragon and it’s even on the front cover, but it’s hardly in the book. The dragon comes and goes. You won’t even realise that there’s a dragon in the book. Lastly, oveusly you will know that Rowan saves his village, there’s no surprise. It says it on the front cover. My teacher even said “Rowan hasent deffeted the dragon yet” he knows what’s going to happen. As you can see Rowan of Rin is bad. It has too many characters, there’s not much of a dragon and there’s no surprise. So don’t wast your wonderful time reading this, go find some other cool book.

City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments)

City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments)

By Cassandra Clare

This is the last book of the series that i fell in love with, and it's also the best one. The answers from Sebastian are all answered and everything became so clear. Jace, Clary, Isabelle, and Alec all came together and formed a little clan to fight Sebastian. This book is full of excitement, but also sadness due to the heartbreaking moments. My favotire character is now Alec because he is Jace's parabatai (bonded friendship), they were so close together, and it's really amazing to see how they would safrifice themselves for each other. It also made me realize who my parabatai in real life is. The most exciting and unbielieveable part in this book is it's ending. I might have guessed the ending but it wasn't what i expected. It might have been the saddest happy ending ever. At last, I would of course recommend this book/series to people who love books that involes supernatural creatures and adventures so exciting.

Frogged

Frogged

By Vivian Vande Velde

I liked this book, I feel like I would have enjoyed it more if I was a younger age. I'd recommend the book to 4-8 year olds since it's more of a childish tale. I did enjoy the book though, it is about a girl name Imogene who is a princess. She does not like being a princess and often finds herself at the pond. One day, she is there and a frog comes up to her and tells her if you kiss me I will become a prince, without thinking she does it. Overall I think you should read this book if you are between 4-8
