Meet Homer Pudding, an ordinary farm boy who's got big dreams-to follow in the footsteps of his famous treasure-hunting uncle. But when Uncle Drake mysteriously disappears, Homer inherits two things: a lazy, droopy dog with no sense of smell, and a mystery.

Why would his uncle call this clumsy dog his "most treasured possession?" And why did he put a gold coin on the dog's collar?

And who will continue Uncle Drake's quest-to find the most coveted pirate treasure in the world?

Join Homer, his sister Gwendolyn, and Dog on an adventure that will test their wits and courage as they leave their peaceful farm and head into a world where ruthless treasure hunters hide around every corner. Where they discover that Dog has a hidden talent and that treasure might be closer than they ever imagined...

this was a very fun book to read. I love how this is in a setting and plot that would most likely never happen in where i live. I really recommend this book to mystery lovers with some humor in it. it was very interesting at how the dog can look and act boring but in the inside, hes dog that can hunt TREASURE!

Omgosh!! It was soooo good! I loved, loved, loved, loved, LOVED, this book. Favorite book ever! I love it. So good.

Homer is very sad when he figures out that his uncle, the strongest supporter of treasure hunting in the Pudding family, is eaten by a turtle, well actually a tortoise. But what starts to get intresting, is that his uncle had left Homer a golden tag, his most prized possesion. But what did L.O.S.T. stand for anyway? His uncle had not just left him a dog, not just left him a golden coin, his uncle had left him a mystery.

i didn't really like this book a lot because there is too much going on in the plot. homer pudding is trying to follow the footsteps of his treasure hunter uncle drake pudding. then his uncle is eaten by a giant man eating tortoise (what?). his uncle leaves him some stuff and his "useless" dog. when homer finds out Dog's (that's the dog's name) secret talent, homer can't wait to start finding some treasure. however, homer has something that someone wants and that person is willing to give in everything they have to get it. then there are all these other characters added in. i really liked the ending though. if you like dogs, treasure and suspense, then you will like this book.

it was a nice book to read. i thought this book was going to be boring, but i was wrong. the book hooked me up.

Smells Like Dog is an EBOB book. it is a funny, adventure mystery.

Love this book very fun dog is so fun the museum director is such a good enemy the cloud copter is fun to read it

It was really interesting but there is no such thing as a cloud copter. My favorite part was when the giant tortoise ate Snooty and Snooty’s secretary. Also when the cobra bit Madame La Directeur and they found out Lorelei was working for her. But did Madame La Directeur live?

This was so funny. It was a good mystery. I did a poster report on this book for school. I would read another book like this again. Awesome.

It is a good book. It cool that a dog can smell treasure! You should read it because if you like mystery's then you will love this ook!
