She is a second year at Cackle's academy and last term, she saved MR Rowan-Webb from being stuck as a frog forever and now it is the summer term! As a thank you, he invites her and the whole class on holiday at his place. 10 minutes into the term, Miss Cackle takes away Mildred's familiar, Tabby and swaps it for Fenella Fervew's (former student at Cackle's academy) cat Ebony as she moves to Pentangle's and there they use owls, not cats.
