"Great Illustrated Classics" is a fabulous series for anyone looking to read a "classic" book but not wanting to spend too long on the 500+ pages. Instead, this series shortens the original book into concise but still gorgeous writing, paired with beautiful works of intricate art. I never had the patience to read the original Jane Eyre book, with its tiny print and multiple hundred pages and small line space, but this version of it is so entertaining. Jane Eyre is now one of my favorite books. It is historically set, romantic, and beautifully written and illustrated!
