Skilled drum player. Loving big brother. Steven Alper is just a normal, 13-year-old boy with a cute (sometimes annoying) little brother who adores him. Suddenly after a nosebleed that leads to the ER, Jeffrey is diagnosed with leukemia, a deadly disease, and Steven's world is instantly "turned upside-down". He becomes popular at school and is always at Jeffrey's side for his Chemo treatments. Steven goes through ups and downs, but is devastated when he is pitted between school and Jeffrey, especially when Jeffrey needs him the most. Fabulous book. :)

Awesome book it was fun reading this book. i laughed a lot i was laugh crying it was really gud i think every girl should read this and boy

Everything is going great for Steven. His life couldn't be better, unless the most popular girl in school Renee would notice him. Then one day his little brother gets a nosebleed that won't stop, and is taken to the ER. Later the family is told that Jeffrey has cancer. Steven must learn to juggle his brother's illness and the tension at home and keep up at school. Thankfully, he has drumming, which becomes his way to vent. I loved that this book dealt with a family's view of cancer. In many other books dealing with this kind of situation, we see it from the point of view of the one who actually has the cancer. I really like reading about Steven's feelings, and his love and concern for his little brother. I recommend this book to those who like reading realistic fiction and books about kids with cancer. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.

I think this book is super funny! It has all the elements to make a great book well...great. This book is awesome and is one of my favorites!

I did not like this book at all! To me it was not that good of a story!! I do not know why but I just did not like it!!

I read this book in middle school and it was pretty emotional for me because the main character's little brother, Jeffrey, had cancer. Steven, the older brother, was in a band and had a crush on the school's popular girl. The book was still pretty funny though and I really like how hard his family persevered to keep the family together.

Just by reading the title (I know your not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but I always do. It's the first thing you see!) I was expecting some weird girl band thing and they make some even weirder pie. Then I read the book. The main character is actually a boy, (Don't say it) who plays drums. He has a little brother and when the main character is making oatmeal, or "moatmeal" as his brother calls it, the younger brother slips off the stool and hits his face on the counter. His nose starts to bleed. His nose bleeds so much that his mother takes him to the hospital where they find out that he has cancer. Join Steven and his little brother Jeffrey as they face their challenges.

I loved Drums, Girls and dangerous pie. it is about a boy who is in a band. suddenly, his brother get sick with leukemia and the only way to save his brother is to leave his band. he also met a girl named Sam. he liked her. only to find out she died the next day. I really recommend this book. it is a great summer read.

I think this sounds like a good book! I imagine tht Steven looks like Joey Bragg.

It starts out with just a regular boy. He has a crush and plays the drums and, well gets sick!! Really, really, really sick!! This story is about himself as he handles the sickness bravely and still manages to overall keep his old life the way it needs to be for himself!!

Thanks! This review helped a lot!
