The New York Times and USA Today bestselling series soars to even greater heights with a new prophecy and five new dragonets ready to claim their destiny!

Daring mission... or deadly mistake?

Winter has been a disappointment to his royal IceWing family his whole life. When his sister, Icicle, runs away from Jade Mountain Academy, fleeing terrible crimes and possibly planning to commit more, Winter knows that they both need a second chance to make things right -- if only he can find her.

Winter’s new clawmates, Moon, Qibli, and Kinkajou, won’t let him make this dangerous journey alone. They don’t seem to understand that IceWings, the most superior of all dragon tribes, can fix their own problems. When their search leads the dragonets straight into Queen Scarlet’s vicious talons, Winter is grateful to have some help. But even the bravest dragons can’t follow him to the Ice Kingdom, where he’ll have to face the greatest threat of all: his own family.

Winter has always felt like he’s useless—useless to his family, friends, and basically most dragons. This is probably because his parents spent the first few years of his life reminding him that he would never be as good at everything as his brother, Hailstorm. So when Winter is invited into Jade Mountain Academy, a school where young dragons like him are supposed to live in peace, he doesn’t expect to make any friends. But when he meets Moonwatcher, Qibli, and Kinkajou, he is proven wrong. There is one problem with his new companions, though; when he goes looking for his sister, Icicle, who nearly killed Jade Mountain Academy’s librarian, they want to come with him...and Winter doesn’t want an entourage of dragons from different tribes following him around. When they arrive at the rainforest, which is where Icicle has gone next, they are greeted with a big surprise. Icicle is nowhere to be found—and the five friends must go on a quest to find Winter sister and stop her, once and for all. Meanwhile, Icicle is wandering around in a deep cave, deprived of sleep for five whole days...because if she does fall asleep, the dragon who made her try to assassinate Jade Mountain’s librarian will appear in her dreams and tell her to kill someone else. When she comes upon Winter searching her cave, she tells him that their supposedly dead brother Hailstorm is still alive, living as the prisoner of a vengeful former queen. But how will he and his friends manage to rescue Hailstorm, and escape the clutches of the most evil dragon of all time? This journey will take all their combined strength, bravery, and courage—because their survival is at stake. Can Winter, Moonwatcher, Qibli, and Kinkajou do this? Read this book to find out!

Winter, even though portrayed evil or too cold to have friends, Moon,Qibli, Kinkajou, Turtle and Peril chip into the ice until they revealed the warm heart underneath. This quest for family and loyalty shows that people sometimes need time to work out their problems and it's okay to leet them alone.
