My language arts teacher gave this book to me today and I already love it. It is written in prose, so it is a very fast read. It follows the story of Sophie Scholl, a German university student who decides to rebel against the regime of Hitler that she does not agree with. Together, her and her older brother distribute leaflets to motivate people to fight for their freedom. This tale is intertwined with her growing up, finding friends, and falling in love. However, the siblings are eventually caught and taken to the Gestapo for questioning. Will Sophie continue to stand for what she believes in or cower in fear of the Third Reich? You'll have to read the rest to find out.
