Deep in the ocean, in a world not so different from our own, live the merpeople. Their communities are spread throughout the oceans, seas, and freshwaters all over the globe.

When Serafina, a mermaid of the Mediterranean Sea, awakens on the morning of her betrothal, her biggest worry should be winning the love of handsome Prince Mahdi. And yet Sera finds herself haunted by strange dreams that foretell the return of an ancient evil. Her dark premonitions are confirmed when an assassin's arrow poisons Sera's mother. Now, Serafina must embark on a quest to find the assassin's master and prevent a war between the Mer nations. Led only by her shadowy dreams, Sera searches for five other mermaid heroines who are scattered across the six seas. Together, they will form an unbreakable bond of sisterhood and uncover a conspiracy that threatens their world's very existence.

I saw this book on a commercial on my favourite channel and it really interested me and the book is exactly the same! Its an amazing thriller and will take you on a emotional roller coaster. It really reflects what the real world is going through even though it is a fantasy book. Its a book that puts you through so many feelings.

I totally absolutely love this book! I could not tear my eyes of the page, because this book is filled with suspense and cliff hangers. It's like you are a character watching all this happen in the book, with Serafina, Neela, Astrid, Ava, Becca, and Ling on the journey of your life.

I read Deep Blue when a friend recommended it to me, and it wasn't even close to comparing how she described it. I don't particularly enjoy mermaids or other fantasy of that sort, so maybe this novel just wasn't right for me. It really seemed impractical, and was definitely uninteresting. I just couldn't find any of the cliffhangers in which my friend and several reviews described. It was incredibly draggy, and I found myself unable to read more than five or ten pages at once. In summary, Deep Blue does not deliver the action and suspense that people say, and I definitely do not recommend it.

It's a really good book, I recommend it to kids/teens 12-16. Sometimes it can be a bit too draggy, but it leads up to some really exciting parts! Great book!
