Trouble is haunting Cassidy Blake . . . even more than usual.

She (plus her ghost best friend, Jacob, of course) are in Paris, where Cass's parents are filming their TV show about the world's most haunted cities. Sure, it's fun eating croissants and seeing the Eiffel Tower, but there's true ghostly danger lurking beneath Paris, in the creepy underground Catacombs.

When Cass accidentally awakens a frighteningly strong spirit, she must rely on her still-growing skills as a ghosthunter -- and turn to friends both old and new to help her unravel a mystery. But time is running out, and the spirit is only growing stronger.

And if Cass fails, the force she's unleashed could haunt the city forever.

#1 New York Times bestselling author Victoria Schwab returns to the spooky and heart-pounding world of City of Ghosts, delivering thrilling new adventures and an unforgettable spin on friendship. (Because sometimes, even psychic ghost best friends have secrets. . .)

This book is the sequel to City of Ghosts, and it is even more spine-chilling, blood-curdling, hair-raising, and wait! don't go! it's not that scary! Just don't read it in the dark, or before bed, or anywhere, or anytime actually......Nope, never-mind we're going to start over...........this book is just the right amount of scary, you can still read it and get to bed just fine. After all, I usually don't like scary books one bit, but I loved this one. This time, Cassidy is traveling with her parents to Paris for their TV show on the most haunted places in the world. Jacob, her ghost friend, gets dragged along, naturally, but Cass notices something different about him. He is getting stronger, where before he could barely move something a centimeter after trying his hardest, he can now push something over with barely any effort. This worries Cass, but she doesn't have much time to worry about this, because she has awoken a poltergeist. Yep you heard me right, and this poltergeist is causing mayhem all over Paris. Cass, her parents, and everyone else is in danger, and Cass is the only one that can fix things. You see, Cass can cross from the world of the living to the world of the dead, and her purpose is to send ghosts on that are stuck in between, reliving their deaths, because they are too scared to move on. She tries to do this for the poltergeist but it didn't work, so she turns to her friend Lara, who can also see ghosts. Lara tells her what she needs to do in order to make things right, and Cass heads off on her hardest challenge yet. I absolutely loved this book, just as much as the first one, and I hope there will be a next book in the series. I recommend this for 6th grade and up, but if you get scared easily you may not like it, but I still encourage you to try it, since it isn't as scary as most. Definitely 5 stars.
