In this new stand-alone fairy tale, Princess Annie is the younger sister to Gwen, the princess destined to be Sleeping Beauty. When Gwennie pricks her finger and the whole castle falls asleep, only Annie is awake, and only Annie-blessed (or cursed?) with being impervious to magic-can venture out beyond the rose-covered hedge for help. She must find Gwen's true love to kiss her awake.

But who is her true love? The irritating Digby? The happy-go-lucky Prince Andreas, who is holding a contest to find his bride? The conniving Clarence, whose sinister motives couldn't possibly spell true love? Joined by one of her father's guards, Liam, who happened to be out of the castle when the sleeping spell struck, Annie travels through a fairy tale land populated with characters both familiar and new as she tries to fix her sister and her family . . . and perhaps even find a true love of her own.

I absolutly LOVE LOVE LOVE this series. The Wide-Awake Princess is full of adventure, and not sleeping, for an amazing story, with cool plot twists.

A good book. It tells the story of sleeping beauty's sister, who isn't affected by magic. She set off on a quest to save her kingdom.

this is such a good book. It's very funny and clever. I love how E.D. Baker incorporates several fairy tales into one story. This is such an awesome story that i think even boys might like it.

This book is about Annie, the famous Sleeping Beauty's younger sister. After Gwen's disastrous account with the evil fairy, the king and queen had another daughter. They only invited one fairy, and her gift was that from then on no magic would affect her. Whenever she is around others, their magic traits or gifts fade. But then Gwin pricks her finger and Annie sets out with a young solider to find every prince she can, to find Gwin's true love. But will she find true love herself? This book if probably meant for preteens and younger teenagers as the story is about love. I recommend this book to older kids wholeheartedly!
