This is my favorite book, and I highly recommend to read The fourteenth fish first. Also near the end of the book BE PREPARED. And by the way it's all about science.
The Third Mushroom
By Jennifer L. Holm
"Believe in the unexpected" with this hilarious, heartwarming, and much-anticipated sequel to the New York Times bestseller The Fourteenth Goldfish!
Ellie's grandpa Melvin is a world-renowned scientist . . . in the body of a fourteen-year-old boy. His feet stink, and he eats everything in the refrigerator--and Ellie is so happy to have him around. Grandpa may not exactly fit in at middle school, but he certainly keeps things interesting. When he and Ellie team up for the county science fair, no one realizes just how groundbreaking their experiment will be. The formula for eternal youth may be within their reach! And when Ellie's cat, Jonas Salk, gets sick, the stakes become even higher. But is the key to eternal life really the key to happiness? Sometimes even the most careful experiments yield unexpected--and wonderful--results.

i did this book for a summary i had to do in school and it was very easy and understandable to read although i thought some parts in the book were a little bit weird i still enjoyed it very much !! :)
Beautiful sequal to the 13th goldfish! You get to see Ellie’s grandpa who’s now a teen and going through , let’s just say things. Science, life, friendship, love mushrooms , all in this book so read on
After Melvin comes back from his travelings, he discovers an interesting species with a pair of extra legs. As he and Ellie experiment with it, they discover that if you eat it you can grow back body parts. But when they find some side effects, Melvin decides to do something...
This story is the sequel of The Fourteenth Goldfish and when Ellie's grandpa Melvin returns still young in the form of a 14 year old boy. He is a big eater and scientist that has two PHDs and is like really smart. He has to go to school as a 14 year old boy and then enters the science fair with Ellie and they learn that some experiments change the world or some are epic fails but, either way you learn something, something important.
WOW.

YESSS! This book came out (sequel to The 14th Goldfish) and I immediatley read it! It’s SO GOOD! It has a great message on science. I don’t usually like science fiction - but this book is DEFINITELY an exception!
