With over one million copies sold, this series of modern classics about the charming Penderwick family from National Book Award winner and New York Times bestseller Jeanne Birdsall is perfect for fans of Noel Streatfeild and Edward Eager.

The Penderwick sisters are home on Gardam Street and ready for an adventure! But the adventure they get isn’t quite what they had in mind. Mr. Penderwick’s sister has decided it’s time for him to start dating—and the girls know that can only mean one thing: disaster. Enter the Save-Daddy Plan—a plot so brilliant, so bold, so funny, that only the Penderwick girls could have come up with it. It’s high jinks, big laughs, and loads of family warmth as the Penderwicks triumphantly return.

In the fall after the Penderwick family's wild vacation, their dear Aunt Claire comes to visit, unfortunately with something terrible to say. Oldest sister Rosalind is especially devastated by this news and comes up with a "Save Daddy Plan".

This book, as well as the entire series, is amazing to read! To me, the family of the Penderwicks seems to, not only learn themselves, but guide the readers through their journey of life. As the Penderwicks, Batty, Rosalind, Jane, and Skye, all work to save their father from the world of dating, their humor and wit spin a very funny and interesting tale. The story is also around family, and the strong bonds between them all as they find a way to come to an agreement as a whole. The readers can also sense the different opinions of various ages, as well as the responsibility and part that each Penderwick is in the family. This book is fantastic, and definitely should be read by anyone! :)

This is the BEST BOOK EVER!!!!!! This funny, entertaining book with all of your favorite characters presents new and exciting challenges. While scheming to find their father horrible dates so he will never date again, aunt Claire is planning blind dates, their father is sneaking out in the middle of all of it to date a book, Batty has a spying partner, Rosalind has found a problem with romance, and Skye and Jane are switching homework and then realizing they shouldn't have... Then they realize their new neighbors, (or spying partner, in Batty's case) Ben and Ientha, might be exactly what they need... an addition to the family.:)
