Danger lurks beneath. . . .

Genetically engineered to survive in the ocean, Nere and her friends are recovering from their treacherous journey to Safety Harbor, an undersea refuge founded by the scientists of the Neptune Project. But plenty of enemies prowl just outside the colony's boundaries, and when two of the children are kidnapped, Nere, her loyal dolphins, and the other Neptune kids must set out on an expedition even more perilous than their first.

Tasked with infiltrating the kidnapper's high-tech undersea base, Nere soon discovers that rescuing the missing Neptune kids isn't all there is to her mission: the secret to saving the world's oceans is hidden somewhere deep inside this vast fortress, and she and her friends will have to risk everything to find it.

With bloodthirsty shark mutates and savage kids roaming the corridors, will Nere and her companions find a way to save their friends, themselves, and their underwater world? The stakes couldn't be higher in this thrilling sequel to the award-winning The Neptune Project.

Hey! My ex-friend recommended this book to me, but I'm like: I have no time for this! I end up reading the whole thing in one sitting. I love this book so much! Nere, Sunny, Ree, Shadow, everyone's so great! They all play a huge part in the book, oh the twists! YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK!

Nere, a genetically- altered girl who lives under the waves of the ocean, is anything but normal. Unless you consider having gills, night vision, and having to fight sharks, mutates, and authorities average, of course. Oh, and she can read minds even MILES AWAY. Right now she is resting at Safety Harbor, an undersea colony for "Neptune Kids" that her father started. The story starts off on a kick- start where she needs to rescue her brother James from the police. When she finally comes back, Nere finds out that two kids from Safety Harbor were kidnapped by their enemy!! Soon the colony puts together a group that has to infiltrate the enemy's fortress, save the Neptune kids, and find the secret ingredient to possibly saving the world... all at once. And that's not even the beginning. This was definitely one of my top 5. You've seriously got to read this plot- twisting book full of creativity, wonder, suspense, action, and adventure!

Okay guys, I literally JUST got this book 2 hours ago. I'm trying to go through the motions with them, and when the go to sleep, I stop reading and read it the next day. I literally waited for it for FOUR MONTHS, though I already told you this, like, 3x. It is soooo good! The last 4 days were torture, I wanted to get it on May 19th, the very day that it came out. Remember Nere? She's in safety harbor now, and just after she comes back from rescuing her brother James, she has to face Dai all over again by going to the enemy's camp, trying to find the secret c-plankton that has the secret to saving the world and saving 2 Neptune kids. That's gonna be über hard though, because she's surrounded by a bunch of mutants that have powers to kill you at the touch or rip you in half. Wish Nere luck with me, because she's REALLY gonna need it!

I know how you feel. I waited a long time for this book too. When ever I went to the library it was always checked out. Finally I just bought it. It was totally worth the $10
