In this riveting fantasy adventure, thirteen-year-old Jax Aubrey discovers a secret eighth day with roots tracing back to Arthurian legend. Fans of Percy Jackson will devour this first book in a new series that combines exciting magic and pulse-pounding suspense.

When Jax wakes up to a world without any people in it, he assumes it's the zombie apocalypse. But when he runs into his eighteen-year-old guardian, Riley Pendare, he learns that he's really in the eighth day—an extra day sandwiched between Wednesday and Thursday. Some people—like Jax and Riley—are Transitioners, able to live in all eight days, while others, including Evangeline, the elusive teenage girl who's been hiding in the house next door, exist only on this special day.

And there's a reason Evangeline's hiding. She is a descendant of the powerful wizard Merlin, and there is a group of people who wish to use her in order to destroy the normal seven-day world and all who live in it. Torn between protecting his new friend and saving the entire human race from complete destruction, Jax is faced with an impossible choice. Even with an eighth day, time is running out.

Stay tuned for The Inquisitor's Mark, the spellbinding second novel in the Eighth Day series.

when Jax turns 13 he finds out he is a descendent of King Arthur! AND there is an eighth day of the week right in the middle on Wednesday & Thursday called "Grundsday" ( just a made up name not used by everyone.) He is living with a guy named Riley who is 18. Jack's dad died and Riley was the one who would teach him about his powers and staying safe on Grundsday. This is an amazing, action-packed book and I loved it!! Thanks for reading -Ajg16's reviews

This is one of the greatest books before big nate

So So So good! I love how there is action and adventure in this book!

I thought that this was an amazing book. I loved the plot of this story and the interesting cast of characters.

This is an amazing book. It is about a boy named Jax Aubrey who's father has just died. He is forced to live with a man who his father said to be his guardian. Then one day when his guardian left the house Jax woke in what he thought was the apocalypse. He then finds out that he was in the Eighth Day where a girl lives in his next door neighbor's house. She only appears on the Eighth Day and she has the power to destroy the Eighth Day altogether. What will happen in this amazing book.

This fantasy book could possibly change you. Having an Eighth day? Amazing! But...only certain families and people get to live that day. And the descendants of Merlin are trapped inside that eighth day. Like, Evangeline. She can't leave the house she's put in. Why? Because people can use her powers in a horrible way. Like possibly...keeping the eighth day and removing all the other seven days. Which does mean, the regulars wouldn't be living anymore.

This fantasy-themed book is adventurous and is about a controversial subject in the story-some people having an extra day. The protagonist, Jax, is one of the special people who have "the eighth day", so when he meets Evangeline, a girl who only exists on the eighth day and is invisible the other seven days of their week, Jax has to decide if he will protect Evangeline or save all humans from destruction. The only thing I was confused on was the ancestry of the different families. This story is also an example of how ghosts are real because Evangeline is known as a "ghost" to a person who only lives in the regular days, since does things in this person's house, but isn't seen.

This is a great story about a boy named Jax whose parents died. He now has to live with an 18 year old guardian named Riley who seems irresponsible to Jax. He falls asleep one Wednesday night and the next day, he wakes up and no one else is awake. He thinks that something is wrong until the next day at school, he realizes that it was Thursday, but how could there have been an extra day? The next day before Thursday but after Wednesday, he accidentally crashes into Riley! He then realizes that he is not the only one experiencing this extra day. Riley tells Jax that they are trying to protect a girl who is a descendent of the magician Merlin who created the 8th day. The girl only appears in the neighbor's house on the extra eighth day. There are people who want to get rid of the eighth day but need the girl, whose name Jax finds out later from herself is Evangeline, to help them get rid of the day. Jax, Riley, and his new friend will need to protect anyone from getting Evangeline and using her to get rid of the eighth day. Will they be able to do it? Find out by reading this book! :) This was a great story filled to the brim with suspense and anyone who liked the Percy Jackson series will absolutely love this! ***********Note: If any of you live in Florida, this is one of the books of the 2015-2016 schoolyear 6th-8th grade Sunshine State Standards book list.*********** :)
