In this collection we bring together the first three books in the ‘Anne of Green Gables’ Series which tells the tale of a little red headed orphaned girl, mistakenly sent to the Cutherbert’s farm on Prince Edward Island. Anne’s strong character and vivid imaginaton both help and hinder her as she makes her way through life on the island.

These early works by Lucy Maud Montgomery, originally published between 1908 and 1915, are now republished here with a brand new introductory biography. Lucy Maud Montgomery was born on 30th November 1874, New London, in the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island. Her mother, Clara Woolner (Macneil), died before Lucy reached the age of two and so she was raised by her maternal grandparents in a family of wealthy Scottish immigrants. In 1908 Montgomery produced her first full-length novel, titled 'Anne of Green Gables'. It was an instant success, and following it up with several sequels, Montgomery became a regular on the best-seller list and an international household name.

It is amazing especially the movie I think that this book would be perfect of teens and pre teens everything about this book is wonderful I read this with my cousin who is a young adult its amazing how a book can change the way you see things I never new that I had such a love for books like these it is based on a girl from decades ago but I like it because of Anne, Anne is strong, determined, self passionate , and adventurous what a wonderful book.

In between the first book in the collection, nice plot, moves very slow and I think that it might be a bit of a confusing read for younger kids as the words are long and very poetic. Lucy-

I love the first book and still want to get the others. I have the movies series and they are AWESOME. You HAVE to watch them. Go through the journey of Anne's "depths in despair" and her joy and sorrow and friendships, hardships, relationships. They really are amazing.
