This is a book from the 50s. My parents and 2 sisters read it and they loved it! So far I got to the part about the Socs and Greasers. Socs are richer then Greasers and treat them terribly

Fritz, a young middle school boy, finds himself in the middle of a giant lab for World War ll. He meets Kathy, Manny, and Jacob along the way, too, and they help him discover so much more than he ever wanted to know. Fritz records all his findings in his notebook, which he calls Notes on the Secret Project, a book he doesn't let anybody but Kathy see. As he learns more and more, Fritz realizes that this might be more than he ever wanted to know.

Wow this looks like a very good book from the first cover of the book I am thinking it might be about science where some one learns a lot of science techniques and stuff that is cool which is cool so I really want to read it...
