Isabelle (American Girl Today)

I loved this book so so so so so much!!!!!! It is a great realistic fiction story. It is about a girl named isabelle who does dance and fears she's not as good as the other dancers. I think this book is meant for girls more than boys because the two main characters are girls.I think the message in this story is '' never give up''. I hope you like it!!!!!!!!!

The Land of Stories: An Author's Odyssey

The Land of Stories: An Author's Odyssey

By Chris Colfer

Chris Colfer's 5th addition in his magical series is my favorite one yet. Filled with laughs and thrills it will keep you reading past your bedtime. I personally love The Land of Stories: An Author's Odyssey because it provides a glimpse into a kids (Connor) imagination and I think others will to. I recommend this book because it's such an enjoyable read and is an awesome continuation of the series and battle between the evil villains and Connor and his friends. The message I got from this book is think outside the box and have hope. Some people wouldn't enjoy the take on travelling into Connor's stories and "reading" about them but I thought Colfer used a unique writing style which made the story really fun to read. I recommend this book for ages 9+ and give it 5/5 stars. Happy readings! bean_boy12

Judy Moody: The Doctor Is In!

Judy Moody: The Doctor Is In!

By Megan McDonald

Judy is thrilled when her teacher announces that they are going to study the Amazing Human Body in class. Not only do they learn all kinds of “RARE!” things, but they get to go on field trip to the ER in the local hospital. Here the doctor in charge tells them all about what happens in the ER, he shows them some very interesting x-rays, and he even demonstrates how they put a cast on a broken arm. Best off all he uses Judy’s arm to demonstrate! The only thing that worries Judy is that she cannot come up with a good idea for her Human Body project. Stink won’t let her operate on his toad, she does not think her band-aid collection is all that interesting, and every other idea that she comes up simple isn't best-third-grade-project-ever worthy. Then Stink shares a special secret with Judy and she gets the idea of a lifetime. As with all the Judy Moody books, this title is laugh out loud funny. Judy, her brother Stink, and all her friends are as delightful as ever. Their ‘voices’ are genuine, and their adventures are true to life. At the same time, the stories have a delicious element of nuttiness that children (and other readers!) will find irresistible.

The Sisters Club

The Sisters Club

By Megan McDonald

I love this! I've read it so many times. It's a realistic fiction and it's pretty funny. It's about 3 sisters and their adventures. My favorite character is Joey. She's very funny. I like how she makes up homework assignments. She's in 3rd grade. I like how there is drawings in it. Also, a few parts of the book are in play form. The theme is how sisters can fight but be best friends in the end. Alex, Stevie, and Joey are so different and they fight but are right there hugging each other at the end. This book deserves a read and is a great lesson of friendship and being there for each other.

Judy Moody Gets Famous!

Judy Moody Gets Famous!

By Megan McDonald

Another easy chapter book for you to enjoy. I read this one in 2 days as well. I enjoyed this book because it is kind of what I am experiencing with some of my peers having been in a few commercials and in the newspaper recently. Judy is like my friends, a little jealous because her friend's is in the newspaper for winning a spelling bee. The book helped me understand why some of my friends were not being nice to me and it helped me talk to them. My favorite part would be when Judy makes the broken, weird-looking, dolls in the hospital look like nice patients that are healing. This shows that being kind and doing for others when it comes from the heart will make you famous, too!

So starting any grade is hard, the first day and you look around and everyone got the text except for you on what to wear, what backpack to have and which shoes are in. This is Judy's first day of third grade and she is not going to let it bum her out, but it does. There are many chapters that make you laugh. My favorite part would be when Judy gets a Venus flytrap that she named Jaws. I read this book in two days and didn't want to stop reading it.
