Son (The Giver Quartet)

Son (The Giver Quartet)

By Lois Lowry

Son is a great but sad and suspenseful book! It's a sweet book about a mother and son trying to find each other. When the do the mom is nearly dead from a bad trade. I would recommend it for people in grades 3rd,4th, and 5th.

Girls Get Curves: Geometry Takes Shape

Girls Get Curves: Geometry Takes Shape

By Danica McKellar

I got this book for Christmas and I love it.Geometry is really hard for me so I really enjoy reading it.It may look extremely boring, but it's actually not.Danicka Mckellar tells her own stories and actually teaches you the formulas and how to do complicated problems. It also interviews students and you can read their stories too.So it's not ALL about math, geometry and learning, it's actually pretty fun to skim or read through it.If you aren;t taking geometry yet,you should check out her other books for algebra and "math sucks" and "kiss math."I really think this is a great idea to encourage kids (mostly girls, in this case) to do well in math and that they can do well. Please read her books, they really are enjoyable."Never judge a book by it's cover!"
