The Demigod Diaries (The Heroes of Olympus)
By Rick Riordan
So I went to the library and I was going to start 'The Kane Chronicles' but they only had the first one so I got that and this book. I wasn't sure if I was gonna like it even though I'm a huge Percy Jackson fan but I got it anyways...and I LOVED it! WARNING: could be spoilers ahead.................(anddd start) The first part is called 'The Diary Of Luke Castellan' and it's about when Luke (son of Hermes) and Thalia (daughter of Zeus) are on an adventure to survive and then they meet Annabeth (daughter of Athena) who is it only 7 years old. Honestly Rick could have wrote a few books off that diary entry. The second part of this book is called 'Percy Jackson and the Staff Of Hermes' ok so this part of the book starts off with Percy and Annabeth are having a picnic then Hermes pulls up and gives Percy a quest to find his caduceus—his staff of power which has to snakes—george and martha wrapped around it. So they (percy and annabeth) go on an adventure to find it (and theres always a time-limit.) They fight a giant come back just in time and Hermes does Percy a favor that I'm not gonna spoil...so read the book 👍 the next part of the book is a short interview with George and Martha, Hermes snakes. The next story is called 'Leo Valdez and the Quest for Buford' this story (I'm gonna try not to spoil too much) ok so first Leo blames Windex for this entire story :) ok so basically Buford is a table, this table can move Leo is building something that needs a certain piece if that piece does not go on what he's building it will explode half of Camp Half-Blood...so Leo, Piper, and Jason all go through the woods and —————————i didn't want to spoil it sorry... Anyways the last story in the book is not written by rick Riordan but his SON Haley Riordan and all I could say about it was "WHERE IS THE SERIES FOR THIS STORY!?!?" no joke it's so amazing its called 'Son Of Magic' it starts of as a normal mortal (Dr. Claymore) who writes books about death (I'm pretty sure) anyways let's fast-forward ------------ Dr. Claymore meets Alabaster a magic half-blood that fought with kronos in the titan war. Anywaysss alabasters monster sister tries to kill him an dr. Claymore helps him. I don't wanna spoil anymore and I've been typing this for an hour so thanks for reading. This is an amazing book I 100% thank you! And good-bye ❤❤❤❤

Out of all the Horrorland books, this one is the best. It brings so many original characters BACK! It makes me think, reread, and collateral with others to understand. that is what makes it a special addition to the series. I couldn't have asked for a better ending!
Took: A Ghost Story
By Mary Downing Hahn
I think this book is fair because it’s suspenseful. The main character, Daniel, has just moved to West Virginia with his family. Daniel and his little sister, Erica, suspect something suspicious around their house and they feel like someone’s always watching them. Old Auntie, an evil witch that lives nearby, spies on them. She plans to take Erica and use her as a servant for 50 years and then let her go, like she did for other girls. Daniel’s family doesn’t believe in Old Auntie, but everybody in their town says that she’s real. Old Auntie lured Erica into her cabin through a doll that Erica always talks to about Old Auntie, although nobody else can hear it. Daniel and Erica go into the woods, where Old Auntie lives because they were searching for Erica’s doll. Erica runs away because Daniel was being mean to her, and then later gets taken by Old Auntie. Daniel goes to one of Old Auntie’s descendants, who wanted to help him, and learns the only way to get his sister back. Daniel learns that Old Auntie is real when he confronts her, and takes her sister back and runs home. I think that this book could be better, because the end isn’t interesting. In the resolution, Daniel gets his sister back and Old Auntie is destroyed. If Old Auntie was still chasing after Daniel, the story could be more interesting if everybody saw Old Auntie, especially Daniel’s parents. Also, if the story didn’t end the way Daniel wanted it to end, it wouldn’t be as boring. It’s almost like a fairy tale, because it ends happily and it has an unrealistic character in it. I think that this book would have a good cliffhanger which would be able to start another book, but the author ended it in a way that makes readers not think or wonder about the book at all afterwards.

Welcome to Feral (Frights from Feral)
By Fearing, Mark
One book. Five curious incidents. Pages of horror and a riveting read. If you like to read bone-chilling and peculiar graphic novels, Mark Fearing’s “Welcome to Feral: Little Town. Big Scares!” will entice you with every chapter! Follow along with Freya, the investigative and conspirative narrator, as she shares all the spooky happenings in Feral. Or, at least, of what she uncovers to be spooky happenings. The horror-themed book contains five short stories, from tales of abandoned ice cream trucks, deep in the middle of a winding woods, to a suspicious troop leader with mysterious habits that leave his terrified troop training for battle. Freya’s nail-biting ideas are bound to keep you on the edge of your seats! Follow along with Freya’s map of Feral covered in posted notes and pushpin, while Freya uses factual details and her interrogative imagination to fill in the blanks of the unusual happenings in Feral, especially surrounding missing kids. Mark Fearing does a spook-tascular job in creating unsettling atmospheres and creative plot twists. I would recommend this book series for ages 10-13.
