Our second grade class really enjoyed the time travel and loved giving Shep an Irish accent. We go to a Catholic school, so we were very familiar with all the things about the Church and sacraments. We liked the part when Patrick threw a rock at the sailor even though we know that isn't usually a good thing to do. Can't wait to read more Chime Traveler stories!

Little house on the prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder illustrated by Garth Willams. Laura's Ingalls family members are her two sisters baby Carrie and Mary Ma and Pa. The big woods got too crowded so Laura and her family moved to the prairie.They settled in the prairie and dad did most of the work on the house and the stable. Then eventually They saw an Indian in the distance. Then Dad builds a roof, floor, and digs a well, And of course a fireplace.Then two mean, greedy,dirty Indians robbed stuff like cornmeal and tobacco for dad’s gun, but they did not take the furs that dad is going to try to trade for a plow. Then dad goes to town and gets glass, sugar and trades the furs [ another name for coats] for a plow. Then there was an indian war cry. Then Laura's family starts to plant. Then they see a trail of indians. Then Laura and her family leave. If you like books about people's childhoods, then this is a good book to read. if you like history then choose this book.

This book was amazing. The best mystery book I have ever read. Addy and her family are given the opportunity for a better life. After Addy's father was offered a job by a rich man, Addy and her family get to move to a nice side of neighborhood, in the rich man's home next to the home he lives in. Addy and her family's future is looking bright for once. After escaping from slavery, her family has gone through a lot. Now, they will be able to settle into a nice home with a nice home. But then Addy is accused of stealing by the rich man's soon to be wife, Miss Elizabeth. To top it off, Addy finds a spy living in the underground floor of the rich man's home. How will Addy be able to clear her name? Or is Miss Elizabeth hiding something? Based in the mid 1800s, this story takes you on a historic and mysterious adventure. It also gives you the perspective of a newly freed slave. This book also shows the hardship that newly freed slaves had to go through, even after being freed. I really, and strongly recommend this book. It was heartwarming and it also made me grateful for all the opportunities and privileges, I take for granted. I suggest this if you like history, mysteries, and family. Happy reading!

Such a good book about friendship and never giving up. Evvy learns to value friendship, to be independent, and to get over death.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is my favorite book. Tom is a mischievous young boy who gets into all sorts of trouble. He has a big crush on a new girl named Becky Thatcher, and would do anything for her. He witnesses a grave robbery and murder with his friend Huck Finn. He even runs away with his friends and people assume he's dead. Tom can always talk himself out of a scrape, and can even get kids to take his punishments AND pay him! This is a wonderful book about a fun and daring childhood.

Do you know what a catamount is? It's a cougar or mountain lion! Serafina, a girl living in 1899, was the daughter of a shap_shifter. At times, her mother would be a mountain lion, the next, she would be a human. But Serafina doesn't have this ability. No matter how hard she tries, she can't do it! Up until a few months ago, she didn't even know her mother. Ever since she was little, Serafina has been raised in Biltmore, a giant estate near the mountains of North Carolina. Over time, she has almost become like its guardian. But this time, she'll have to fight hard to defeat her enemy. One night, she encounters a strange man with magical powers. He seems to be able to control animals. Even more terrifying, he has sent his spy so that he can invade Biltmore! But who is it? How can she defeat the man? I liked this book because it had a lot of details about life in 1899.

Such an amazing book, but it missed many crucial elements of the origianal story, little women. It was still an amazing book in my eyes.

"A Picture Book of Amelia Earhart" by David A. Adler, tells the story of Amelia's life and aviation dreams. Even from a young age, Amelia Earhart shocked people. At first, she wasn't interested in airplanes, but later in life she became fascinated by them. After her first airplane ride, she became determined to fly. It was dangerous, and she crashed many times. In 1928, she was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean, but she thought she could do more. She flew across solo in 1932 just like she planned. She becomes world famous, and flying around the world becomes her biggest goal yet. To find out what happens, read the book! This book was a great way to learn about Amelia's life, and I loved the pictures that helped me visualize what was happening in the story. Amelia's life in inspiring for everyone because it shows what women can accomplish.

This was the... BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ!!! This is definitely for young adults because of some suggested content (If all you older kids know what I mean "wink wink") . Over all this book had so many twists and turns in it with Love-hate relationships and forced marriage, poison and Allies. This is definitely my favorite book and there is a second! This is definitely for Book nerd because it consists of like 560 pages. Most of the people I know (like me ) Have read books with way more pages. But anyway Please PLEASE PLEASE READ THIS BOOK!!!!

This adventurous book got me hooked!! So I read of the books from the series (here and there) because mu younger brother thought we should discuss some main important concepts... And I finally decided that I should just read the whole series in one sitting... So that's what I did... And after I received this book... you know it, I was ready as Lauren Tarshis (sorry for my lack of humorous puns... I'm still working on having funnier puns)... So what I love about this story is that it's straight to the point and relatable, yet very informative. I feel like that history is a huge part of daily life... And I bet your wondering... "history??? What does that have to do---Wait it's probably because I have history class every day at school---" Nope... well sure... but history is important so we don't make the same mistakes as our ancestors did (or if they made mistakes) and to have a better understanding with life, society, government, and how the world became the world it is right now! Ms. Tarshis is an amazing author with bright ideas and twisting it with main ideas we need to learn about as a society. This story focuses on the Hindenburg (a zeppelin) and it's whole story and the disaster of course... The author also spins the Hindenburg history with a little bit with the Nazis side of World War II... and I think it is an amazing idea how those two "history pieces" evolved together... Now along with the summary... Meet Hugo Ballard... ever since his little sister, Gertie, not getting better from her sickness... The Ballard family soon became desperate after multiple doctors, where it was settled that the family must travel to New York to get her cured immediately. So the only fastest and "safest" way to get Gert heal faster is to step on to the zeppelin, the Hindenburg. So just a little background history on the Hindenburg... it's not a blimp (although they are some similarities), they had luxurious food and cozy cabins, more than ten thousand people rode on the zeppelin, and it soon became a huge success... Going back to the summary, Hugo meets a friend along the way named Martha Singer, where her father plays a VERY significant role in this story <no spoilers>. Anyways this whole story is Hugo's adventure and exploring the zeppelin himself... but when the disaster struck... uh oh... DUN DUN DUNNNN... So what exactly is Marty's dad doing? Will Gert be okay? Do everybody survive the disaster? To find out what happens next and to answer all these questions... read the book to find out!!!! So my favorite part of the book is when Gert called a Nazi solider a deadly snake... and I also liked how the author added the dog, Panya, to the story... I absolutely love dogs.. so I was reading everything word to word... However there is one disclaimer... Nobody really knows how the disaster even happened and how the zeppelin would explode like that... there are many conspiracy theories that are really fun to read... so I recommend that too... But the author's theory of how the disaster could've happened could also work too... Like I said earlier history does play a huge role... and so now nobody really travels with zeppelins.. So read this amazing and adventurous book!!!!
