A Very Grimm Guide (Sisters Grimm Companion) (Sisters Grimm, The)

A Very Grimm Guide (Sisters Grimm Companion) (Sisters Grimm, The)

By Michael Buckley

I liked this book, it was intense and filled with interesting characters. Not exactly my favorite book, I personally found it a little confusing at times, but still a fun read. The entertainment was mild and nice, the plot was very well thought out and the characters all had their quirks.

Percy Jackson's Greek Gods

Percy Jackson's Greek Gods

By Rick Riordan

AMAZING!!!!!!!! This book was... I don't know but it was one of my favorites from Rick Riordan... It talks about 12 gods/goddesses: Hestia, Demeter, Persephone, Hera, Hades, Poseideon, Zeus, Athena, Aphrodite, Ares, Hephaestus, Apollo, Artemis, Hermes, and Dionysus... it also covered how the "world formed"(btw I'm a Christian so ya...) and how cannibalism was introduced(scary thought)... It could've been serious, but the way it was narrated(Percy Jackson) made me laugh the whole entire time, I didn't know if it was Rick's intention... but it made learning new facts of mythologies more easier, funnier, and a faster way to remember these myths... oh ya I don't know if this counts as spoiling but the book is HUGEEEEEEEEEEE when I mean huge it mean ENORMOUSLY HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had know idea that this book would be BIG, I thought it was one of those regular sized books that were thick BUT it was HUGEEEEEEEEE.... I guess that's another reason why it made the book more fun to read... I had read like huge books when I was like 3/4/5... but for the first time in forever(:D) I read a huge, witty, and factual book... So I urge you guys to read this book for fans of Rick Riordan's writing(Percy Jackson/Kane Chronicles/Heroes of Olympus) and adventurous, historical, hilarious types of book... this will be the perfect book for you to read... :-D

Monday with a Mad Genius (Magic Tree House, No. 38)

Monday with a Mad Genius (Magic Tree House, No. 38)

By Mary Pope Osborne

The Magic Tree House series is an awesome series. My mother was even interested in this book. This story is about 2 siblings, Annie and Jack. They have a magic tree house. The reason why it's magic is because when you open a book in the tree house and think about the place in the book you want to go, you go there. This time, they went to the time Leonardo de Vinchi was alive and making artwork. Read to find out what happens in this book.

Emily Windsnap and the Ship of Lost Souls

Emily Windsnap and the Ship of Lost Souls

By Liz Kessler

I love this book! It's about Emily Windswap and her boyfriend went to a mysterious island for a field trip. When they are discovering the island, they saw a strange, ghostly ship. They are the only ones that can see it. The ship gets fainter and fainter every day. The island's keeper, Lyle answered all their questions. Lyle's wife, Lowenna and some people had disappeared and stuck in a secret place called Atlantis. Only Emily, who is half human, half mermaid can save them. Time is running out. Emily went into the portal and rescued them just in time. Lyle and his wife are together again. I recommend this book. It's very exciting. I hope you enjoy it!

Phoebe and Her Unicorn

Phoebe and Her Unicorn

By Dana Simpson

Fourth grader girl Phoebe one day when she was at the pond, trying the skipping rocks until she had accidentally hit the magical unicorn by the rock. The unicorn said it's fine because tshe has a tendency to become awestruck by her own appearance by the relection of her. The unicorn's name was Marigold Heavenly Nostrils. Throughout the story, you would often see Phoebe with her unicorn friend during summer, schools years, etc. This is a graphic book so I recommend this book series if you like fantasy and graphic books. - Happy Reading!

Moon Rising (Wings of Fire, Book 6)

Moon Rising (Wings of Fire, Book 6)

By Tui T. Sutherland

This is for sure one of the best books in the series! It follows Moonwatcher a Nightwing with mind reading abilities who is attending Jade Mountain Academy a school started by The Dragonets of Destiny. This book is wonderful for fantasy lovers! Moonwatcher has to hide her abilities in fear of other dragons not liking her, and that makes her shy, but at her new school there all so many potential friends in her winglet! Maybe some more than friends ;) But while she has her new friends and she is shy she is also hearing a voice... A mysterious voice she must find out who it is, but she also gathers information that Queen Scarlet is still alive and is coming back, she has to save the day! At all costs. I recommend this book for ages 10 and up for violence, other than that it is a wonderful stay up all night book!!! Happy Reading!

The School for Good and Evil

The School for Good and Evil

By Soman Chainani

"The only way out is through a fairy-tale.." By opposites' attraction, Sophie and Agatha of Gavaldon are best friends.. Sophie is beautiful, but only on the outside - she only performs her Good Deeds because her greatest dream is to be kidnapped by the School Master and accepted to the School of Good. Everyone in the village calls Agatha a witch because of her not-so-beautiful appearance on the outside, but inside, she has a heart of gold and she's just lonely for true friendship. When the School Master kidnaps both Agatha and Sophie (to Sophie's delight and to Agatha's horror) but to both of the girls' horror, he places them (supposedly) in the wrong school! While Sophie (School of Evil) and Agatha (School of Good) are struggling in their new schools, feeling their destiny has been horribly switched, Sophie falls for a prince in Good, Tedros, King Arthur's son, while Agatha just wants her friend and her home back. Desperate to get back home, Sophie and Agatha pay a visit to the School Master and the magic, story-writing pen, the Storian.. only to be presented with a riddle ("What's the one thing Evil can never have.. and the one thing Good can never do without?") and a very unsatisfying answer to their pleas ("The only way out is through a fairytale.") It seems that the only way to get out of this "dungeon" is through their fairytales.. Agatha as a princess and Sophie as an evil witch. But unexpectedly, both start excelling at their studies - is it possible that there hadn't been a mix-up after all? If they were exactly in the school they were supposed to be? With the upcoming Circus of Talents where Good boys ask Good girls to be their date for the Snow Ball, Sophie is anxious to be Tedros' date and to receive her true love's kiss.. but Tedros asks the now beautiful and kind Agatha instead to be his date.. In blind rage, Sophie is set on destroying the school that is ultimately destroying her life, and Tedros declares war on Evil. Suddenly.. it seems that Sophie will never become Agatha's friend again, and that they'll never get home to their beloved Gavaldon, ever again. What will happen to the two beloved friends? Read this compelling, magical, absolutely spellbinding book to find out! I loved this book! It is hands down, probably the best fairy-tale twist book I have EVER read! It was extremely captivating, and hooked me on the first page - I just felt a rush as I read it, and I honestly couldn't turn the pages fast enough! This book defies what other books have said - you don't have to be beautiful on the outside to have a solid gold heart on the inside! I've read books about perfect friendships.. but in my mind, those aren't friendships at all. You have to have bumps in the road (very MAJOR bumps for Sophie and Agatha) and it's the strength that takes to rebond, over and over again, to look over each other's faults, to still remain true to each other even when things are rough or when you'll different, and most of all (SPOILERS) to sacrifice yourself for each other. Discover a tearjerking story full of undying, true love, differences, magic, the power to overcome challenges, being yourself, and most of all, it tells you just how important and beautiful true friendship can be! I can't wait to get the second and third books!
