But in Doolittle Falls, where superheroes walk the streets, Sarah's powers aren't enough to secure a spot in the prestigious Hero Academy, not to mention the fact of her mother has become the town's most notorious Super villain. Tumbling
By Caela Carter
Have you ever been to the Olympic trials or an actual Olympic event? If you read Tumbling by Caela Carter you’ll feel like you have a front row seat to the gymnastics Olympic trials. This book takes place in Baltimore, Maryland. You’ll focus on the antagonists Grace Cooper, Monica Chase, Wilhelmina Parker, Camille Abrahams, and Leigh Becker who are competing to go to the olympics. At the same time the girls could be the protagonists towards each other. They get competitive so they won’t be nice to each other. The girls also have their coaches being protagonists too. Some coaches are fine to their athletes but for Grace it’s a whole different story. Her coach is her dad so he thinks he’s being supportive but he’s actually dragging Grace down. The first conflict the characters are facing is their friendship. Their competitiveness is so strong they could enter the trials as friends but leave as enemies. The second conflict their facing is that they really need to push themselves hard to make it to the Olympics in Rome. The turning point in the story is when the Team USA gymnastics coach Katja Minkovski and the Olympic selection committee make their decision on who will go to the Olympics. Only 5 girls will leave as future Olympians 3 will be alternates and 4 will walk away with nothing but the experience of being at the Olympic trials. I would recommend this book to any girl who is in 7th grade through high school. I would also recommend this book to a reader who likes realistic fiction and gymnastics. WARNING: Vulgar language for any younger readers.

I didn't like this book at all. I thought the plot was really silly. I had high expectations for this book, but they plummeted immediately.
