This the second book in the Wings of Fire Legends series, and an amazing book. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Wings of Fire. Warning, it does contain a few spoilers for the first five books, mostly about the end of the fifth book, so if you have not finished those books, you should read them before you read this book. While all of the other Wings of Fire books are told from the dragons' point of view, this one is told by three humans, called scavengers by the dragons, named Wren, Leaf, and Ivy. The beginning is about how the war started 18 years before the main series. It tells the story of how the Dragonslayer killed the SandWing queen Oasis. Then the story shifts ahead about 18 years to Wren. The people in the town of Talisman are almost completely controlled by people called the Dragonmancers, who think that she is too smart and curious, and out of fear that she would discover their secrets, decide to get rid of her by feeding her to the dragons. They often did this, telling the people of the village that it was a required sacrifice to keep the dragons happy, so they wouldn't kill them all. This makes her brother Leaf furious. Thinking that she is dead, he vows to be the next dragonslayer to avenge Wren, and also becomes a dragonmancer so he can find out what is happening. He knows the dragonmancers are lying, he just doesn't know the truth. Wren escapes, however, and meets a tiny, pale sky dragon named Sky. At first she doesn't trust him, why should she trust a dragon. But the two realize they have one thing in common, they are both outcasts from their family. The two teach each other their languages, and learn to survive together. Everyone has always thought dragons were mindless monsters, but Wren begins to think otherwise. She has already met one who is caring and playful. She and Sky decided to search for the truth together, but no one said it would be easy. Leaf is beginning to learn more about the dragonmancers, and it becomes obvious that they are trying to protect their secrets, not the people. Ivy, the daughter of the dragonslayer, along with many other people in their underground town, wonder how her father could have killed a dragon queen. He was in terrible shape. This didn't really matter, however, because he could prove it. He had the stinger of the dragon he had killed in a display case, and was very proud of it. Because he had killed a dragon, he was the lord of the town. Ivy and her friends thought something was off, especially that nobody was allowed to leave the tunnels if they wanted to. They knew the Dragonslayer was hiding something, so they went and explored outside the tunnel. None of them had ever seen the outdoors, and to them, it was breathtaking. Leaf, his sister, and her friends, had gone to the sky dragon kingdom, so that Leaf could kill a dragon. The dragons capture them, though, and they try very hard to get out. But when they are rescued by a dragon, they begin to think that they have been told another lie their entire lives. When the three kids meet each other, they go to the desert, find the truth about dragons, and even stop a dragon war that the Dragonslayer, who had been looked up to as a hero for the past 18 years, started. All in all, I think this is an amazing book, and I highly recommend it.

This is around my first time reading DORK DIARIES! I haven't read this one yet, but the other one I read was cool. If that one was cool the others will probably be just as good. To me the writing looks exactly like DIARY OF A WIMPY KID! The pictures are different, but it's still written like if a kid wrote. In this case it's Niki's diary so it's like she actually wrote these words even though a grown up named Rachel R. Russell wrote it! I LOVE DORK DIARY! I recommend that you start reading Dork Diary I guarantee you'll get hooked!

The Beast Within By Selena Va lento. This story is about a young prince that meets a girl in the ball that the prince throws. At that time the prince was dating. Then Geston said that the girl that the prince was dating was a pig farmer. So the boys go to the pig farmers house there she was feeding the pigs on the farm. He throw another ball. That's when Geston was talking to Bell. He meets Geston and asked if he knew that girl he said yes.Later that night Ceca turned into a Witch and said to the prince if you don't marry the prettiest girl in the village by your 21st birthday you will die.Then she turned the prince into the beast. He meets Tulip at the ball and wants to marry her. Then the prince turned into the beast and tulip runs off into the distance. Then he traps Bells father and Bell turned he in tho the beast. So if you like to read about drama you should reed this book to.

This is a chapter book by Lizzie Hearts and Duchess Swan. They go to a school called Ever After High,which is a school for royals and villains. Duchess and Lizzie are roommates even if they are not alike, they bond with not fitting in with the royals.While Lizzie and the other royals have a good destiny's. Lizzie does not. Soon Duchess will have to either choose between friends and destiny. When she gets into general villainy class she has to do evil. Will she sabotage her only friend ? Let's find out.

Edward Tulane a special rabbit, being custom-made for 10-year-old Abilene Tulane by her grandmother Pellegrina. One day while going to family trips, Edward got lost beside a beach. Luckly, a fisherman and his wife found Edward, and decided to take him home. In the home of the fisherman and his wife, Although Edward was "connected" with them, he still ends up in a garbage dump. From there he is rescued by a tramp named Bull and his dog Lucy. Entering a life of great adventure he learns to enjoy the songs and stories. And so he listened. And in his listening, his heart opened wide and then wider still. After many years with Bull and Lucy, a little boy assume that Edward is just what his sick four-year-old sister needs. Sara Ruth, her little sister, makes Edward realize he has a heart because it breaks when she dies. Bryce, Sara Ruth's brother, proves to be one of the most tender of characters when he turns Edward's broken body over to a doll maker after the rabbits' head has been shattered. Will he keep the broken rabbit, or let it be restored to make another child happy? Bryce's sacrifice, in the face of his grief over his sister, is very touching. Finally, in the shop of the doll maker, Edward is unexpectedly discovered by someone who has always loved him. This story is talking about how only a rabbit doll can have love, and we should all love things surrounding us.

I want to read this book because is looks like there will be some fighting sences in the book and lots of action, I think will get attached to the book when I read it for the first time. The book has a good series I heard from my teacher.

Gulliver's Travels gives an account of an Englishman (Gulliver, of course) who goes on voyages but is very unlucky. He meets (famously) Liliputians, the small people; Brobdinagians (the big people); Laputans and Balinarbians; and Hounyhnms, the virtuous talking horses. Through these travels, Jonathan Swift, the Irish writer of satire, weaves in criticisms of the world during the 18th century, criticizing the following: Whigs, Hanoverians, people from the Netherlands, and Europeans. It is interesting to read all the brilliant sarcastic ways things are allegorized in this book. The sheer absurdity of some events was diverting too. For example, LIliput battles its rival, Blefuscu based solely on the "correct" method of cracking eggs, and Gulliver urinates on the place in a noble attempt to put out a fire, and is promptly sentenced to blinding and slow starvation. Of course, you will have to read the book to realize all of its brilliance. But as this book does not have dialogue, only long monologues without even quotation marks, and because the sentences are long, and semicolons put in at strange places, this is not so quick to read. This, I know, will detract from the reading experience of some. But if you are prepared, you should read these pages and bask in its deep glory, irony, and wit. I especially recommend it to people who like reading classics or are prepared to think while they are reading. Lastly, I recommend that you read it with some footnotes to understand political references, such as the Sterling Edition, which also has good printing and large font.

With a great plot and creepy supernatural stories, this fantasy/horror story was delightfully engaging. The characters include the following: Emrys, who has just moved to the notoriously haunted city of New Rotterdam; Hazel, Emrys's longtime friend, and unexplained phenomenon enthusiast; Serena, Hazel's friend. In the book's beginning, Emry and Hazel return to their apartment in the middle of a thunderstorm. Soon, a mysterious whistler is heard: Emrys, Serena, and Hazel decide to snoop around their mysterious neighbor's mysterious apartment (where they hear the Whistler going in). What they find astonishes them: destruction, and in the midst of it, a talking book containing the consciousness of the apartment's former owner, Mr. Van Stavern. He tells them that they are to be members of a secret order. Their mission is clear–protect New Rotterdam and the world from paranormal forces by containing powerful cursed relics. But a dilemma is caused when Serena, the skeptic, decides to forget about it. Their first task begins as a red hourglass starts appearing all over New Rotterdam, and people start disappearing. With only 2 members, will the team be able to survive the deadly relic and the organization that is putting them in public spaces? First of all, the book had very relatable themes such as climate change and friendship. The characters, such as Emrys, were all fleshed out and relatable too. The Wiki entries after every chapter were interesting and in my opinion, made the book a lot better. But I felt that one of the big flaws of the book was that the Wandering Hour, which is what the book is focused on (it's in the title even), could have been a lot scarier and stranger, like the other Wiki entries in the book. Finally, the dialogue feels natural and there are even some funny parts, which lighten up the grim tale of disappearing juveniles. About the scariness level, it's pretty mild, but there is talk of humans disappearing and dying, so I would recommend this book to middle grades and above. Also, if you like unexplained things such as cryptids, this would be an interesting book (the book goes by pretty quickly, so it's good for light reading).
