Flush

Flush

By Carl Hiaasen

The lesson to be learned is to except an offer that helps you and to offer help to someone who needs it. For example, in the book Flush the dad wouldn't except the help given from his son. By doing this the dad is still in prison. Someone can relate to this and not except food, water, and clothing when they need it. So except help when you need it and don't be selfish and refuse the offer if you're not okay where you are or how you feel. Additionally, if someone needs help from someone, help them and don't ignore it. For instance, if an old granny is slowly strolling across a street and a car was getting closer, and closer and someone doesn't help this old this can cause an urgent disaster. Finally, a lesson that should be learned is to offer help and except it or, disasters can struck someone's life. I'd rate this book an "8 out of 10". I would recommend this book because not many things happen at the beginning of the story . Then so many miraculous things happen. For example, the characters dad went to jail. Then he comes back a month later when he was supposed to be in jail for a couple of years. The family is now back together as a normal family. On the other hand so many things go wrong. Flush is full of excitement and sorrow. By the way and unanswered question I would ask the author is, "Did Dusty Muleman ever go to jail for dumping in the lake?"

The next day it was Unhei's first day at her new school when she got on the bus kids started asking her was she new and she said yes so then they asked her what her name was then she said Unhei and they all tried as hard as they could to say it but the couldn't but finally they were at the school she got off the bus some of they other kids were yelling "bye Unhei" but they still said it wrong and she didn't like how people pronounced her named because they could not do it right. when she got in the school she found her teacher standing outside the door to her classroom so when the teacher spotted her he said come on in this is your lucky day so she went in and saw many kids she did not now all staring at her so the teacher welcomed her into the classroom and asked her what her name was and to tell the rest of the class but when he said tell the class your name she remembered what happened on the bus and she said I don't have a name and they asked why she said because she hadn't chose one yet so one little girl said "I have an idea we can help her find a new name I can bring a jar and we can fill it with names we cam think of." So the next day the little girl that had the idea of finding a new name for Unhei brought a jar with names already for Unhei to pick a name she went through a few name but she did not like any of the name so she pushed the jar aside.so se could work for a while. The next day when she got back to school the name jar was not on her desk so the class helped her search for it but they could not find it. So when she got home she asked her mom if she could have a new name like Jessica because all the other kids in her class didn't know how to pronounce her name but her mom said " you have a beautiful name and I think you should keep it" But Unhei didn't want her name she didn't like her name.

The Secret Tree is a tree that people dump their secrets into, to never be found. Whether they are good or bad. Minty Mortimer, or by her roller derby name, Minty Fresh, has a lot of problems. Her best friend, Paz, is starting to ignore her and is growing up faster than she is. When sixth grade starts, Minty, won't have any friends because Paz is hanging out with the 7th graders. As for her other problems, she needs to find out what the secrets people dump in the secret tree mean, and who wrote them. She needs to overcome the mean boys, Troy and David. She also needs to find out who is putting a curse on Paz. Then things get worse when Wendy's cat go missing. But she isn't alone. Her new friend, Raymond, will help her. She soon learns that Raymond is related to the Witch Lady. What does this mean? Natalie Standiford will impress you more than she needs to in The Secret Tree.
