By all accounts, Kristy’s stepfather, Watson, has been working too hard. The family is worried that Watson is going to hurt himself. Sure enough, Watson has a life-threatening heart attack. After the close call, Watson makes a decision: he’ll quit his high stress job and become a stay-at-home dad. The news comes as a surprise to the Brewer/Thomas household and everyone expects the worst. However, the next few days run incredibly smoothly and Kristy and the others are starting to like this new change. But when Nannie decides to leave because she thinks she’s not needed (or wanted) and Emily Michelle gets the flu, will “Super Mom” collapse under the pressure? This book was amusing. It depicted a practical family, but it was done masterfully so you are still getting fictional entertainment. Kristy’s family is disorganized but also very much lovable. It’s easy to fall in love with the family. But mixed in with the charm and humor, there were also very good life lessons. One being the fact that doing hard things on your own only hurts you and eventually others. The book stresses the point that asking for help is not shameful but, in fact, honorable. I appreciated the reminder. I walked away from reading this book feeling refreshed and motivated. I suggest this book if you like family, babysitting, and friendship. Happy reading!

Mary Anne has never liked being in charge, she has always left that for Kristy or Claudia or Stacey. But when the BSC girls get in a huge fight, Mary Anne must learn how to stand up for herself and take charge. So, when Mary Anne is babysitting for a little child who is sick, Mary Anne must step up and save the day. This book was exciting, interesting, and fun to read. It teaches the importance of standing up for yourself and stepping up when you need to. I suggest this book if you like emergencies, exciting books, babysitting, and friendship. Happy reading!

Claudia loves art! So, when a new girl named Ashley comes to Stoneybrook Middle school, Claudia and Ashley immediately get along. But soon Claudia is spending more time with Ashley than she is with the BSC girls. The BSC girls are mad at Ashley; she's stealing their friend! I thought this book was great! It teaches the importance of not losing sight of the people you care about and not getting caught up with the wrong things. This book had a lot of great life lessons, and I would suggest if you like art, friendship, and babysitting. Happy reading!

Another great work of Ann M. Martin. She is a master! Kristy Thomas, president of the BSC and one of my favorite BSC members (Stacey is my other favorite!), has recently moved because her mother has remarried. But her new stepfather is rich, so thus she moves into a ritzy neighborhood where one of her neighbors has a tennis court in her backyard! Kristy is feeing let down and not worthy. But when something unexpected and sad happens to Kristy and her family, she becomes more comfortable with her new neighborhood, and she even makes a new friend! I suggest this for people who like friendship, babysitters, and animals! 5 stars!

Mary Anne and the other BSC girls may have bitten off more than they can chew when they decide to start a project for their clients (I forgot what the project was, sorry. I read this book a while ago.) Anyway, they are beginning to worry until they meet a drop-dead handsome boy named Logan in their school. He is from Louisville, and he looks like Mary Anne's favorite celebrity Cam Geary. And, on top of it all, he has babysitting experience! All the girls think he is gorgeous but especially Mary Anne. But since she is shy, she thinks that she has no chance for him to fall in love with her. Was she ever wrong! Logan likes her too and he becomes (by the end of the book) her boyfriend and an official associate member of the BSC! I suggest this book if you like romance, babysitting, and friendship! The idea for this book is really good. Instead of focusing on Tris's point of view (in the 1-3rd books), the story takes on an interesting spin as the reader gets put in Four's shoes. I read a lot about his background, told from his own perspective. I really like the way the author chose the moments to write about, it highlighted the most significant moments in Four's life to make him more understandable and relatable to the readers. The thing I liked most was that the author didn't just focus on Tris as the main character, in the fourth book she made Four the main protagonist and led the readers through the events of his life. However I wished the book was a whole length novel with continous chapters instead of long narratives because it would make it seem more realistic, like you were actually THERE, instead of reading a diary. In conclusion, this book was really good!

In old houses, under the floor, live tiny people called Borrowers. The borrowers don't bother to make stuff like beds or spools of wool or safety pins. Instead, the Borrowers create their furniture using "borrowed" items from "human beans." There aren't many Borrowers left. One Borrower family, composed of three, lived in an old house in England. The father was called Pod, the mother Homily, and the child Arrietty. Arrietty isn't like other borrowers. She doesn't want to spend her entire life cooped up in a house, seeing the sky only through tiny glimpses through the grating. Arriety wants to live outside, under the blue sky. But girls are usually not allowed to go on borrowing trips through the house. After many days of asking, Pod finally gives in and allows Arietty to come. On the trip, Arrietty is seen by a human boy. He agrees to keep their secret, but what will happen when more people find out?
