By Noel Streatfeild

Ballet Shoes is an interesting book with well developed 3 main protagonists that will keep you reading for the many hours it has. Esecially with the different points of view from the characters, the way Noel Streatfeild portrays his characters and their different personalities is colorful an interesting.

George's Marvelous Medicine

George's Marvelous Medicine

By Roald Dahl

This book is about a boy called George who had a grumpy and grizzly old grandma. He wanted to teach her a lesson. So when it was time for her medicine ,George made a disgusting mixture, which was guaranteed to explode and send her through the roof.Which things did George put into the Medicine? What happened to grandma? If you want to discover it, read it. I enjoyed this book because I like experiments. I liked the part of the story when George went to the toilet and got things for the medicine. My favorite part was when Grandma got small until you could’nt see her. I recommend this book for boys and girls that like doing experiments. It is for boys and girls who are between 7 and 13 years old.

The Jungle Book

The Jungle Book

By Rudyard Kipling

Warning!! THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The jungle book is an amazing book! If you are an animal lover, love action, fighting, and suspense then the jungle book is for you. I loved how the author keeps you at the edge of your seat the whole book. In my opinion my favorite part about the jungle book is when Mowgli kills Shere Khan and proves him self. There are 5 different stories in the book itself. My favorite out of all is Rikki-Tikki- Tavi, it is about a mongoose who is trying to protect his family from combra and is amazing. All in all and awesome book!!! Highly suggest reading the Jungle Book.

Flowers for Algernon

Flowers for Algernon

By Daniel Keyes

Flowers for Algernon features mentally impaired Charlie Gordon who is to keep a progress report journal so that neurosurgeons Dr. Nemur and Dr. Strauss could keep track of his intelligence growth. Charlie was born with an under-average IQ of 68 and had a weak creative intelligence. However, he was always motivated to be smart because he feels he will be just like everyone else if he keeps trying. The doctors soon gave him an operation that was to triple his IQ to 204 (which would be above genius). He soon became friends with a white mouse named Algernon who also went through the same operation as Charlie to become smart. Both Charlie and Algernon completed mazes every day to test their intelligence. Charlie was originally made fun of at work for being "mentally retarded" but he was soon fired because he became a genius within a week. Everyone thought he was strange and he became more lonely. Algernon sadly reached the side effects of the operation and lost its life. Charlie was soon losing his intelligence rapidly and his ability to read and write fluently. When Algernon died, Charlie put flowers on its grave for the loss of his best friend. Charlie decided to start a new life in New York where no one would know he was a genius once. Honestly, this book was very touching and portrayed that it is not a person's fault they are not perceived to be smart. We also learn that an IQ cannot measure the full capability of a person's mind.

The Red Badge of Courage (Classic Starts)

The Red Badge of Courage (Classic Starts)

By Stephen Crane

I recommend this book for teens, it has a lot of big words kids wouldn’t understand. I enjoyed it, it had a good plot but the conflict was a bit strange for a book about war. It has some sad moments but it turned into a happy ending.

I never knew this book was about 12th Century in Korea, and I'm Korean. At first, I thought the story was from China, because they made celadon potteries too. I wanted to learn more specific facts about long time ago in Korea, not only about Se-jong King who made Korean. I love this book, but the only one I disliked was when the end was sad.

D'aulaire's Book of Greek Myths

D'aulaire's Book of Greek Myths

By Ingri d'Aulaire, Edgar Parin d'Aulaire

This book was amazing, not only has it been around for a long time, but it is well written. This book explains everything and anything you will want to know about Ancient Greek gods and goddesses, with myths explaining how the world came to be, a family tree of the gods and goddesses, and lots of other things. I recommend this book to anyone who likes mythology and anyone learning about Ancient Greece.
