Five Children on the Western Front

Five Children on the Western Front

By Kate Saunders

I like this book because sometime the plot makes me nervous, sometimes it makes me wanna cry. There are a lot of different feeling and mood in this book. There are touching part, impressive part, Surprisingly part , also there are some nervous and dangerous part. So when I was reading it, I had many different feeling at the same time, sometimes I could get it, sometimes it's really complicated. But it's still a heartbreaking story.

The Company of Ghosts

The Company of Ghosts

By Berlie Doherty

The book, The Company Of Ghosts, is a spooky book about the ghost in a small island that exist about 200 years. The main character Ellie was a new ghost, other ghosts didn't even know that she is in the island. Ellie met George and started a relation, and they both went through a serious of problems and struggles. At first I didn't really enjoy reading the book because it is full of spooky things. But after I read few chapters, I started to like this book because of the other ghosts and their lives in the island. I would recommend this book to the people that enjoy reading spooky and some romance books, some part of the book has romance and some chapters are sad to read. Overall I enjoy reading this book.

Skulduggery Pleasant Series (3 Book Series)

Skulduggery Pleasant Series (3 Book Series)

By Derek Landy

This book was about a girl named Stephanie who met a mysterious person called Skulduggery Pleasant who was a friend of her dead uncle and Skulduggery brought her into a world she never knew existed. Skulduggery Pleasant is my favorite character because he has a good sense of humor and also uses cool magic. My favorite parts of the book was when they were using magic to battle evil magicians. I would recommend this book to others who enjoy fantasy and fiction stories and I would rate it 9/10.

Across the Great River

Across the Great River

By Irene B Hernandez

This is a book talking about a Mexican family trying to smuggle into the United States. In the story, dad falls into the river and gone, and mom was in injury, by gunshot. They couldn’t find their dad, and they can’t go to the hospital for her mom, they don’t know what to do. I choose this book is because, I want to know about their smuggle journey, how excited and dangerous. I was also curious about what happened after when they successfully get into the United states. I think this is a great book because it is interesting and tension. I think if you like this kind of book, you should definitely read this.

Wind Tamer, The

Wind Tamer, The

By P.R. Morrison

Wind Tamer was a bit . . . eccentric for my taste, but it was well measured enough with the use of reality to keep me intrigued and transfixed to this unique book. First off, Archie is 10 years old. Most authors choose to keep the age range from tweens to young adult, so this book was a new experience for me, so kudos, Mrs. Morrison. Next, I love how the book starts NORMALLY, unlike a lot of books where we start with aliens from mars shooting waffles at the main character and the reader has no clue what on earth is happening. It's normal enough that you don't jump out of your seat, but it's interesting enough to keep you turning and turning the pages until you get to the very last one. Lastly, and my favorite thing about Wind Tamer, is that we get see everyone's point of view. We see Archie's, we see his mom's, we see his father's, we see his uncle's. I love that. It connects all the dots for me and gives me a good grasp on where the story is going. My only critiques are that Mrs. Morrison uses a lot of Scottish words, like torch instead of flashlight, which can be a bit hard to understand sometimes. All in all, a good read that'll keep ages 9-13 entertained.
