Take Me Out of the Bathtub and Other Silly Dilly Songs

Take Me Out of the Bathtub and Other Silly Dilly Songs

By Alan Katz, David Catrow

5/5 I loved this book of poetry because it was funny, smart, and straight up genius. I think this would be a good book to introduce poetry to kids or read to them. Overall I loved this book because we all know these nursery rhymes and songs it makes it easier to read for people who have trouble rhyming.

Lights, Camera, Middle School! (Babymouse Tales from the Locker)

Lights, Camera, Middle School! (Babymouse Tales from the Locker)

By Jennifer L. Holm

BabyMouse is a really good book series. This graphic novel is about how BabyMouse signed up for film club for a chance to be famous. While making the film some bad stuff happened such as: becoming a monster directer that means bossing everyone around and thinking it's just her film. (read the book to know all the bad things that happened). This book inspired me to make my own movies! Did BabyMouse and her film crew get the movie done in time? Did the movie make BabyMouse famous or did it make her and her crew the laughing stock in Middle School?

The Wildlife of Star Wars: A Field Guide

The Wildlife of Star Wars: A Field Guide

By Terryl Whitlatch, Bob Carrau

I love this book! It had lots of cool facts about Star Wars animals, including Sarlaacs, Blarths,Tauntauns, and Giant Space Slugs. Also, the illustrations were amazing! I think this is one of the best books that I have ever read!

The Call of the Wild

The Call of the Wild

By Jack London

I think this is the first classic book that I actually ENJOYED. I read the "kids" version for a book report in 3rd grade and really enjoyed it. The "full" version is even better. I liked how Jack London showed what BUCK thought at the moment since many other books hide the feelings of a dog. Overall, very fun to read. I'd recommend for Grades 5+

Bud, Not Buddy

Bud, Not Buddy

By Christopher Paul Curtis, Literature Connections, Holt McDougal

This is a hilarious story with mind blowing characters. This gives you a very god idea of what it was like during the 1930s and makes you feel so much more thankful for what we have, now. The crazy thing about this is you are learning and getting a good laugh at the same time! I would definately recommend this book and am proud to say this is one of my 2 favorite books ever!!!

Dragonart: How to Draw Fantastic Dragons and Fantasy Creatures

Dragonart: How to Draw Fantastic Dragons and Fantasy Creatures

By Jessica "Neon Dragon" Peffer

I enjoyed following the drawing exercises. I just wish I were better at drawing. She makes it easy to learn to draw dragons. I need to get more creative with my dragons. I hope the comes with time. I love Neondragon's artwork, I have ever since I saw it on the internet a few years ago. 6.7/10

Ballet Shoes (The Shoe Books)

Ballet Shoes (The Shoe Books)

By Noel Streatfeild

This story is about 3 girls, Pauline, Petrova, and Posy, who have to go into show business in order to get money for their guardian. Sylvia, their guardian,'s Great Uncle Mathew, also known as GUM, loved collecting fossils until he hurt his foot so badly that it had to be cut off. Then, he found three children at three different times and Sylvia named them Pauline, Petrova, and Posy. But on a voyage to some islands, Gum disappeared, and the money he left Sylvia is getting smaller. So Sylvia has to take the children out of school and rent the house to boarders. One of the boarders is called Miss Theo, and she's a teacher at the Academy of Dancing. She tells Sylvia that the children can go have classes at the Academy, and when they're twelve, they can earn money! Pauline loves acting at the Academy, Petrova doesn't like it very much, and Posy loves dancing. (Her mother was a dancer who left her a pair of ballet shoes.) But all three of the children vow to try to make themselves famous. But will they be able to do it? And more importantly, will they be able to earn enough money? I'm not really interested in dancing or ballet, but the author's writing style was pretty good.
