Stormkit has always wanted to be the leader of Riverclan, maybe even more than his brother Oakkit. Stormkit falls on the edger of a stone and breaks his jaw. All of a sudden, almost every cat in camp hates him. Even his mother Rainflower tells Hailstar to change his name to Crookedkit. Will Crookedkit ever achieve great things? Then, Crookedkit meets Mapleshade, a Starclan cat. She explains to him that to become a great warrior, he must be loyal to his clan above all other things. Crookedkit soon finds out how this promise can impact his life, and not just in positive ways. I was instantly persuaded to love cats after reading this book!

Fern has saved Wilbur’s life. He was smaller than the other pigs, and Fern’s father was going to turn him into bacon, but Fern took him as her pet. Now, after Fern has cared for him a while, they have sold him to Fern’s uncle; Mr. Homer Zuckerman. Fern goes to her uncle’s farm every day to see Wilbur, and talk to the animals. But then, the sheep brings them to the attention that the Zuckermans are going to turn Wilbur into bacon and ham at Christmas! Charlotte, a new spider friend of Wilbur’s, promises to help save him, and weaves words that are “a miracle”. Wilbur soon becomes famous, and people from all over come to see the words in Charlotte’s web. In a story of true friendship and helping others, E.B. White writes another classic that will never be forgotten. My thoughts: I love E.B. White! I was introduced to that author when I read Stuart Little with my mom as a youngster. I thought that was a great story, and when my mom told me to read Charlotte’s Web, I did not decline. I am pretty positive I have seen this movie, but I do not remember it. I really enjoyed reading this book; I love the bond between Fern and the other animals. Her mother is always saying “Animals don’t talk. Stop making things up.”, but Fern has a really deep connection withWilbur. Animals are a big part in our lives, whether we realize it or not. Also, the illustrations complemented the text very well, and I like how Rosemary Wells spruced them up by adding some color to them. So, a great book for fans of Stuart Little and E.B. White. Overall: 8.5 out of 10 Stars

Grace has always loved wolves her whole life. They lurk in the woods near her house, and she has watched them for years now. Over the years, she has "claimed" a wolf with yellow eyes, since he feels familiar to her, but she doesn't know why. Meanwhile, Sam has always lived a double life. Most of the time he lives as a wolf due to being bitten by one when he was one. He is a wolf when it is cold, and for a short time every year, he transforms into a human. Sam has also had a crush on Grace, and he watches her when he is a wolf. Even when he is a human, he has never risked talking to Grace. One year, when he turns back into a human, he decides to talk to Grace, and it pays off. The two fall in love, but that's when Sam and Grace are given the news that Sam might not change back into a human next year. Grace is determined to find out a way for Sam to stay, but Sam is getting weaker from the cold. Time is running out. Can Grace save Sam from is fate? Or will Sam stay a wolf forever? Find out by reading Shiver, which I give 5 stars. I recommend this book to whoever loves a good read that you won't be able to put down.

This is a really funny book about how Mr. Popper, a very eccentric and interesting fellow, gets a pet penguin in the mail. This may sound like a weird book, and it is, but in a good way. Mr. Popper's penguin, who he names Captain Cook, is getting a little lonely so they decide to get another penguin, and they end up with a bunch of little baby penguins! Now these penguins aren't exactly the cheapest of pets, and the Popper family isn't exactly rich, so they decide to use the penguins to their advantage. They put on a show called "Mr. Popper's Penguins" and they go to lots of different theaters around the country. Now this did not toll well on the penguins so Mr. Popper finally gets his dream in the end (read this book to find out what it is.) This was a pretty easy read, so I would recommend it to elementary level readers.

I thought this book was good but not usually the type of book I would read. It has good storytelling but doesn't have a lot of action scenes. When I was reading it I felt bored sometimes because nothing excited was happening in that part. I liked this book because it always had questions running wild in my head. It is a book about a girl named Opal that just moved to a new town with her father. She feels very alone because she has no friends and her father is spending to much time on his job and not enough on her. Then she encounters a dog named Winn-Dixie and he changes her life. One of the things I most disliked about this book is I felt it took too long to get the climax and that the climax was really the only part with a lot of action and was exciting. The book itself is more intriguing than excited. One of the things I liked most about the book was how it always made me guess if something were to happen next or what was happing with a character that made him/her the way they are. I also liked how they kept teasing the return of a certain character and the result of the tease. All things considered, I would say the good thing outweighs the bad and it wasn't perfect so I think a 4-star rating if fair.

I love axolotls!

This book was really, really good. Roz is a robot that got shipwrecked on an island and was activated by a group of playful otters. Roz didn't waste a minute trying to befriend all the animals. All the animals were scared of her, however, because she was a robot. But being a robot, that didn't discourage her. Instead she tried camouflaging, and was rewarded with learning the animal language. Upon accident she ends up adopting a gosling, which changes her life. The gosling (Brightbill) also helps the other animals warm up to her. I liked this book better then its sequel. The first few chapters of the book were a bit un-interesting and dull, but the book becomes really addicting after that. Before you know it, you're done and buying the second book! I like how they made Roz a robot. I feel like if Roz was a human, things would've gone differently, and I wouldn't have liked the story as much. My favorite part was around the middle when she met all the animals. The ending was a cliffhanger(not a bad one), and made you want to read more! I would recommend this book for 6+, people who like adventure, animals, and overall just a good book.

This book is the best. This book is one of the best books The Wild Robot Escapes is one of the best books I have ever read. The plot of the story is: Roz was used for helping humans with work, but Roz remembered her past life in an island, where there was nature with no people. Roz has a good adventure looking for her son that is a goose. Roz pretends to be a robot that has a job working in the city, and Roz and her son meet the creators of robots. I liked that there was a lot of action near the end of the book. I also liked that Roz was trying to find her son and that her son was trying to find them too. While that was happening, her son was all grown up joining a flock, and I liked that Roz shut down and then got made into a new advanced robot. I did not have any dislikes about The Wild Robot Escapes. That is why you should read The Wild Robot Escapes.
