Helen has always had problems with reading so when she starts to fail 6th grade, she does not want to go to the "retard room." After pulling off multiple stunts, from firing off a firecracker to putting toothpaste on her teacher's desk, she finally gets out of Mrs. Lobb's room. But moving to her favorite teacher's class doesn't help her grades and Helen doesn't want to move to the "retard room" so how will Helen ever be able to push up her grades and pass 6th grade? I would recommend this for ages 10+ and for fans of Fish in a Tree. So the pace was very nice and the character was also well developed. I loved reading about her stunts and her perception was just so interesting! Not really my fav book but i would still recommend it.

I loved this book so so so so so so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is a great realistic fiction story. This book is about a girl who has reading and writing problems and then needs to go to a special place for kids who need to learn how to read and write. Like she spells grade like grad. I think this story is meant for boys and girls because there are about the same amount of boys as girls. I think the message in this book is ''Try your best''. I hope you like it!!!!!!!!!!
